My family and I have come here the past three years to eat and bowl for my moms birthday. Every single time we have had issues with the woman, Susan who typically runs the bar area. Never in my life have I met a more ridiculous person. The first year she made us out to feel like liars as we prepaid for an hour but had to wait for a lane to be available. Once available she tried to charge us again and gets ugly with my mom basically calling her a liar. Year two we were made to feel bad for bringing a cookie cake in to celebrate my moms birthday. These two times we were accompanied by my minor nephews who were allowed in the bar / restaurant area. This year we were thrown out of the bar / restaurant by this woman stating my 1 year old nephew could not be in there because it was a bar. It is a large room and we sat a ways away from the actual bar itself. This has never been an issue before. We sat there for 45 minutes and ordered drinks before this woman decides him being there was a problem and asked us to leave with him. Alabama state law states that children can be present as long as they are with an adult and the place serves food, so by this we were fine, Susan just wants everyone to be as miserable as she is. We tried speaking to a manager and other employees but had no assistance. We were told they had been trying to get rid of her for a while. I think its high time you do because at this point you are losing customers due to her sheer hatefulness and coldness towards customers. We gave this place three tries and every time Susan caused us to have a bad experience. Do yourself a favor and drive an extra 5 minutes up the road to Decatur. It is bigger, cleaner and the service is fantastic. We will never be back to the Hartselle bowling alley as they really need better staff that knows how to treat people!
