    So far I am very pleased with this storage unit service. The owners have always been very kind and helpful. I was unsure which company to go with and feel I made the correct decision coming here. Whenever I go take a load to my unit I'm asked do I need help. I've called on different occasions asking general questions and they have ALWAYS been very kind. The area is always clean and seems to have good security. At this point I have nothing negative to say. Thanks for always being nice!!!

    BEWARE: YOULLL GET ROBBED AND OWNERS WILL NOT CARE! My mother had a storage unit here for about 6 years. From my understanding it was previously owned by someone else. When GMS took over, they nearly doubled the monthly price of her unit. Still, she paid on time every month. Last month, my mother drove 13 hours (each way) to collect her belongings and move them to her new house. She got to GMS after renting a uhaul only to find that her lock was off her door and her unit was TRASHED. Upon further inspection, she realized most of her belongings were GONE. Her filing cabinet, her dishes, her furniture, her Barbie collection that shed had for 30+ years, and just a ton of other stuff. GMS did nothing. They did not care. They do not care. The owners are rude and sketchy and dont care that a nearly 70 year old woman was robbed of a lifetime of possessions. All she had left to remind her of her late husband, gone. GMS owners have varying stories. They claim this happened before they took ownership. If thats true, and they knew there were break-ins, why didnt they contact every single customer to let them know their unit may have been compromised and to have someone check on them? How on earth can you call yourself secure when customers locks are laying on the ground for who knows how long? Sorry, but something doesnt add up. These owners should be ashamed of themselves. I dont really care if they have a contract in which the fine print reads that theyre not responsible for stolen items. Your job is literally to store peoples treasured items and keep them SECURE. Failing to notify customers that their units may have been ROBBED is negligent and dishonest. Do not give them your business!

Ms. Duncan, my husband & I purchased this very run-down dilapidated facility at the end of 2021, then began construction to upgrade EVERYTHING. Your Mother began renting a unit from the former owners beginning in 2016. This facility, prior to our owning it, was never locked up, had no outdoor lighting, and no security cameras. I am unsure why your mother chose to store here rather than go to a secure facility with lights, security cameras and controlled access gate, such as the one just down the highway. Perhaps it was because it was ½ the price. As part of our upgrades to the facility immediately after purchasing, we put in new roll up doors on all units in 2021. I spoke to your mother in 2021, and she agreed we could cut the lock off to do this work. I then locked it with our secure facility lock as they hadn’t damaged her lock when they cut the door. I stood and watched while the construction workers replaced ALL roll up doors of units that had customers in them, in order to ensure everything was secure. In 2021, when they opened the 10x10 unit in question, it looked exactly like it did when your mother arrived in August 2023 to vacate her unit. I was with her and removed the facility lock for her to gain access. Her lock was on the floor inside the unit and I can assure you the unit was locked and secured! She was very upset and crying and said her dolls and filing cabinet were missing. I stood with her until she calmed down then I helped her pack her 5x8 U-Haul trailer. We had a nice conversation while doing so. She left a dryer that she didn’t have room for and stated that she wanted to give it to charity. She was visibly stressed about having to remove the dryer so I told her I would call a local charity that accepted donations for her, if she wanted. Afterwards she came into my office to cool off and have a bottle of water and visit. She hugged me when she left and thanked me for caring and helping her. Then 2 weeks later you and your husband came to the office demanding we ‘do what’s right’ and insinuating that we compensate you for your mom’s dolls even though we didn’t own the facility when the alleged theft happened. It is unfortunate you didn’t check on your mother’s belongings over the years, since you live so close, and it is also sad the you couldn’t be here to help her pack it up. If so, you would have seen something completely different than you describe. She was very emotional when she arrived as she had not been to Gurley since her husband’s death. This was very traumatic for her and I was very kind to her as I am to ALL my customers. After making the improvements to the facility over the past two years, GMS’s facility is now fenced, gated with controlled access, equipped with new lighting, and security cameras. The facility is now a high quality storage facility under the new ownership, and it is our goal to provide excellent storage with exceptional service! The Owner/Operator.
