Meyer Vacation Rentals by Vacasa

The house they rented us at full price had 2 broken tvs, broken deck boards, popped screws on the deck, ants on the bed and on top of that, there was a carbon Monoxide leak so we had to leave the house. They absolutely refused to provide any restitution

We are in gulf shores now at Daniel's Beach house, the refrigerator isn't working and we have tons of groceries. No one will respond or return our calls

I have rented from Gulf Shores, AL local real estate brokerages for many years and rented from Vacasa after they apparently purchased Meyer Real Estate. I had several emails from Vacasa after booking Seacrest 309 and numerous text messages from various long distance phone numbers claiming to be Vacasa. This company nickels and dimes people for early check in, extra night stays, late check outs, etc. I received a text message saying early check in might be available but then found out the unit doesnt allow early check in according to Vacasa. Check in time is 4 pm which is an hour later than most vacation rental companies. Shortly after accessing the unit, we heard pounding on the door. I called out asking who was at the door and a woman yelled Vacasa. I opened the door and saw 2 women whom I speculate were housekeeping employees that stated they were here to replace the shower head I called about. I didnt call about a shower head with only being in the unit approximately 5 minutes. I thought they were scammers and told them I had no idea what they were talking about. Later that night I tried to take a shower and water sprayed out all over the bathroom ceiling and walls and not from the shower head but from the plumbing pipe. I called the number listed for the local Vacasa office and was talking with someone in Birmingham, AL. The representative told me the previous renter called them about the shower head but obviously they never repaired it for that renter. I didnt hear from anyone by noon the next day so I called again. Later than day a very nice maintenance man repaired the shower after knocking loudly then opening the door before I got to the door. My husband was in the other shower. What if we had been.. I told them to call before coming but no call received. If I had not called a second time, I doubt anyone would have shown up. The beds were all covered in a paper thin white coverlet that was so thin you could see your hand on the opposite side of it. The one kitchen towel was paper thin, all towels were worn out and thin, and all paper goods and linens were less than Dollar store quality. There were NO blankets in the unit at all and the 3rd night of our stay the temps were in the 30s. The unit was relatively clean but had black mildew at the main bedroom sliding doors and stained carpet which needed vacuuming by the main bed. Vacasa is a big box corporate conglomerate and the cheapest vacation rental company I have ever encountered. Ive been a real estate agent for many years and will NEVER rent from Vacasa again.

If I could give zero stars I would. Upon arrival to the condo in gulf shores the room was not ready. When I say not ready I mean, it was under renovations, completely unable to stay there. While they were able to move us to another condo it took almost the whole day, so therefore losing almost a full day of our short trip. My 5 year old accidentally left his blanket in the condo after checkout. We werent gone but maybe 30 min when realizing this and house keeping was still there. Vacasa refused to give us housekeeping number and even charged a $25 fee to pass the word along to lost and found. I'm sure this was in case of having to ship back, but what if its not found? Completely unprofessional and HORRIBLE customer service. I will never book with them again and suggest everyone think hard before they book with them also.
