Made an appointment the night before and it was still and hour wait. I asked was there a point in making an appointment, the guy at the desk said no when its busy. I cant stand bad service. Appointments should not
Be accepted if you are not going to honor them.

Drive from Shelby county for a simple visit and was turned away at 6:30. The hours for the location should reflect that they close at 6:30 not 7 if that is untrue. The door was unlocked but lights out and the staff unconcerned about patient needs at the front desk. Sad.

I went in not feeling well with my asthma and I was coughing extremely bad. Tested negative for flu and everything else. My asthma was just flared up so bad. The front desk receptionist guy was very nice and all the staff was really nice as well. Saw Dr. Andrew Allen and he was on point and listened to me .Dr. Allen treated me with respect he knew just what to do. He prescribed me all the meds I needed. I Enjoy this Urgent Care UrgentCcare Everytime I do have to go

Dr. Allen and his team at UAB Urgent Care do excellent work. He is pragmatic, thorough, friendly, efficient, and answers all your questions without making you feel rushed.
I went online at 8am today and made an appointment for 8:40am, and I was in and out within about an hour, which is unheard of with urgent care. This includes wait time, triage, Covid and flu testing, exam with Dr. Allen, and getting the proper diagnosis and treatment. He promptly sent in my RXs so I could pick them up before going home, so I could actually get in bed and rest rather than getting back out.
I also appreciate how prompt he was to respond via the UAB patient portal. I sent him a question after my visit and he responded within the hour. And when I sent another question, he again responded to my second message nearly immediately! So rare to be able to hear back from your provider so quickly.
The front waiting area was clean and not crowded. The bathroom was also very clean. The front desk and triage staff were also very kind and efficient.
As someone who has been on a tumultuous healthcare journey for several years now, I can say this was a rare doctor visit that made me feel HEARD and SEEN. Thank you, Dr. Allen and team, for making me feel like a person instead of a number today. I hope I dont have to come back, but I know where Ill go if I need urgent care again in the future.
