        I highly recommend Ascension St. Vincents in Birmingham. I went to the ED Sunday evening and was admitted for a one-day stay. My only regret is that I didnt get the names of the people involved in my care so that I could publicly acknowledge them.

        Orthopedic office made me wait over two hours just for a follow up visit. It was a conversation that could have been had over the phone.

        The GOOD, The Bad and The Ugly. The Good: - Hospital care is good. The building stays clean & fresh. Definitely top notch. The Bad - My wife was admitted after learning her cancer had spread. The day nurses were super and treated us both as good as anyone could. The night shift was a completely different story. It wasnt their work load because after waiting between 30 & 45 minutes for a simple cup of ice I walk to the nurses station and find two sitting at the station and our nurse standing across the hall. All 3 were busy playing with their phone. The Ugly - Trying to get the paperwork mailed from their business office is a bigger challenge than winning the lottery. Last attempt I lost count of the calls I made and each time was told 5-7 business days I should have. After 5 months her surgeons office stepped in to help . The care provided is worth 5 stars but the above issues dropped a star
