        Visiting this store is one of the absolute highlights of my trip to Birmingham. The owners, Al and Peggy, were probably the nicest people Ive ever met. I ended up staying for over 2 hours talking about the history of the city. We also had an honest conversation about the history of racism in the south. I left with two tee shirts, a free bottle of water and a great history lesson. I would absolutely recommend coming here.

        This shop with its amazing owners and wonderful mission was a highlight in my visit to Birmingham! Not only did I pick up a couple of great t-shirts at an amazing price, chutneys also get to pick out a free book with every purchase. The free hugs and great kindness were added bonuses to a fabulous experience!

        This is a wonderful shop and the owners are on a great mission to keep people informed about black history and history in Birmingham. They are such friendly and personable individuals. I went in with my sister who had visited the store the day before and my experience was everything my sister said it would be and more. I got shirts and was able to pick a book. They make you feel like part of their family and fellow customers struck up conversations with each other also as that was the type of vibe this store provides. I'll most definitely be back to visit and shop and encourage you to visit while in Birmingham. The store and the store owners are gems!!

        The owners of this wonderful little store and their important mission to keep the rich history of the area alive while empowering residents to remain engaged in working towards a better future was a highlight of my visit to Birmingham! I got some wonderful shirts at a great price and every customer gets to pick out a free book as well! The friendly service and hugs were an added bonus! I highly recommend checking out this unique little shop!
