    I called Wallace Eyecare to make an appointment. I gave my info and insurance information. I was then informed by the receptionist that my insurance wouldnt cover the office visit and he basically said have a nice day and rushed me off the phone. I called my former optometrist and they said that I was eligible for an office visit, just not contacts until May 2018. (Side note: my normal eye doc couldnt see me for two weeks which is why I called Wallace to begin with). My eye doctor told me that Wallace had already authorized my insurance and asked if I made an appointment. I told them no because once they thought my insurance wouldnt pay they rushed me off the phone. She said I wouldnt be able to make another appointment with another eye doc until Wallace cancels the authorization. So I called Wallace back and told Dan that the information he gave couldnt be accurate as I havent had an office visit for over a year. He was incredibly condescending and put his office manager on the phone. She confirmed what the other office said and that Dan told me wrong but was also rude and said well Your contacts wont be covered or your contact fitting which is $100-$140. Do you still want the appt? I explained to her that I really needed a new prescription and Im more than willing to pay for it. I told her to make an appt although I felt their cost was too high. I called another eye doc to cost compare and their contact fitting was $40 and they were much more pleasant, so I made an appt with them and proceeded to call wallace back to cancel my appointment and ask they they cancel my insurance authorization. No one at Wallace answered the phone. I started calling at 10am the next day (my original appt was Saturday at 11:30) and no answered, even though their office hours said open until 5pm Friday. Finally I gave up and left a voice mail at 3:40pm. Saturday morning Dan called being rude again on the phone about me cancelling my appointment. He said he would charge me $25 for cancellation less than 24 hours before appointment. I explained to him that I attempted to call all day friday and no one answered! I asked if they were open or what time they closed Friday and he said I dont know, I wasnt here. So they may not have been open Friday and clearly the receptionist wasnt available. So Im being charged $25 for them not answering their phones or being open during their posted hours? I can live with that if they can live with having negative reviews online. This office is rude and unpleasant. I dont recommend at all.
