Great place All places that house animals are sad, but this place is a rescue, and they really take care of the animals. This was our 3 visit, and we will go back.

This was a hidden little gem! I felt like we were on set for the movie We Bought a Zoo!! Working there would be my dream job if it weren't so far away. I don't know if me or my kids loved it more!

Went early in the morning, it was nice and quiet. The only negative feedback I have is that it seemed the animal enclosures were a bit small and the signs they had posted. Some said no cameras, no videos, but then other signs said photos allowed??? As someone who had never been before, I was also surprised when I had to take my brand new car on a dirt road and into the rough parking lot. But overall, I would say the visit itself was an 8/10. Kid friendly and peaceful, and the lady in the gift shop was nice.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. We truly appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to address the concerns you’ve mentioned. We want to assure you that the welfare of our animals is our top priority. Our animal exhibits are designed to exceed the minimum space requirements set by the USDA and the American Sanctuary Association (ASA), providing ample room for our animals to thrive. Furthermore, we are proud to offer a several acre spacious rotational Big Cat Playground where our animals can enjoy even more freedom and exercise. This area, which you may have noticed along the entire left side of the cemented walkway leading into the predator section of the preserve, is rotated among the animals to ensure they all get time to explore and romp around in a larger, natural setting. We’ve placed signage along this area to inform our guests about its purpose, hoping to provide clarity on how we prioritize our animals’ well-being.Regarding photography at our preserve, we are happy to allow photographs to be taken of our animals in their exhibits. However, as you pointed out, we do have restrictions on photography near the holding cells. These are temporary spaces where animals stay only when their primary exhibits are being cleaned or when food is being prepared. Unfortunately, photos taken in these areas without proper context can be misleading. To prevent any misconceptions, we have placed signs explicitly stating that photography is not allowed in these holding areas, along with explanations that these are temporary spaces for the animals. This policy is in place to ensure that the public receives an accurate representation of our animals' living conditions and care.We hope this clarifies the concerns you raised in your review. We are deeply committed to providing the best possible care for our animals and an educational and enjoyable experience for our guests. If you have any more questions or would like to discuss your concerns further, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back to the preserve soon.
