Alabama Motor Express (AMX)

I just started with AMX 3 weeks ago and I love it here. Everyone treats tou just like family (the good side of the family) LOL... Everything they say they do. I have been to several companies and NOT 1 have ever lived up to their word but AMX has so far.

I have been a driver with AMX for almost 6 months. I have 12 years driving experience, so I am not new to the industry. There are several things that I enjoy at AMX: I am not micromanaged. Most of my communication is by text because that is how I prefer it myself. Once given a load through the company provided tablet, I don't hear from anyone checking up on me, etc. I am left alone to do my job. I sure appreciate that about them. When I ask for home time, I get home when I need to (and I can be home every other weekend if I so choose). They don't expect you to work 24/7 and if there is something important you need to be home for, they will get you there. I am treated well. From dispatch to safety, everyone is respectful and gracious. And you quickly find out that this is not a typical trucking company. A driver learns to avoid going to the terminal at most companies, but whenever I go to the yard here, I feel like I am home. There is a large driver lounge with vending machines, free showers, and two free washer/dryer... plus, if I want to go talk to my dispatcher or really anyone, the door is open. There is a lot of drop and hook and I rarely ever have to wait for a load. The equipment is well maintained and is replaced often...including the trailers. The $$ offered by recruiting is doable. While it is difficult to hit those numbers going home all the time, I have learned myself how often I can go home or how long I need to stay out to hit my desired income for the week, so it is working for me.

Truck 2032 at 12:20 PM on saturday march 9th hollered out his truck fussing and cussing with a passerby!! Not professional..
