I have Arnold Chiari Malformation. I struggled with headaches n didn't think anything of it. Then when I was pregnant at the age of 20 I fell down stairs n I was battling issues with balance. I was sent to a neurologist at this point and after tests found i had the malformation. I went to several neurologist looking for relieve and all of them wanted to experiment with different drugs to try to control my issues. I then started having a constant "brain freeze" from the time I woke up till I went to bed. Something had to give. A yr after that started I was grasping at straws wanting a dnr even because I couldn't handle it anymore headaches and the constant brain freeze feeling. I went to see Dr Sean O'Malley he told me he wasn't me n didn't know my pain. He gave me the odds the surgery would work 40% positive with a 60% chance it wouldn't help anything. I called him that afternoon scheduled the surgery and 2 weeks I had it done. My options were the surgery or dealing with this constant pain that hurt my quality of life. While the whole time being on different meds to try and help or narcotics. I was just too young to take so many pills nor did I want to be addicted on meds for the rest of my life, raising kids and all. This surgery worked! I owe him everything, as he changed my life and gave me quality of life back! Now if I get a headache it's simply just that a headache. Most times I can tell if it's from not eating, allergies, sinus, monthly stuff, etc. I would and have recommended him.

PTSD. Spinal stenosis. C3-5 are bad. C6-7 are fused with titanium. Lumbar 45 and s1. Dr. Saw my MRIsaid I may become paralyzed WITHOUT LOOKING ME IN THE FACE. He said get a myleogram and walked out. Like I was a horse. No compassion. No mercy. Some staff were rude. I went for alternatives to surgery. Surgery was the only thing mentioned which tells me its the money. Not the patient. Zero bedside manner. No emotions as he tells me I could be paralyzed. Now I cant get them to send a referral for another Dr that MIGHT treat me like a human being. I nearly collapsed out the door sobbing. Hard to open doors with a Walker. NO HELP. NO NOTHING. Im disabled and getting to the doctor is difficult. Didnt matter. Horrible treatment. doctors need to know how to deal with PTSD in their patients. Getting there was a huge obstacle because of loading and unloading the Walker. Dont treat people poorly. If you want compassion, this aint the place.

Dr. OMalley did my back surgery. I only have great things to say several years later. My first visit to his office after surgery he gave me instructions of what to do and not to do, I followed them and can say the outcome is successful. I always recommend Dr. OMalley when someone talks to me about back issues.

I cannot recommend Dr. O'Malley highly enough. He's performed surgery on me twice now (different spine issues), and everything went far better than expected. He is an amazing and caring doctor.
