This company installed a gutter guard system on my new home back in 2007. One piece of the gutter guard did not work well and I had to call them out a few times to try to correct the problem. It allowed the rain to pour over the top of the gutter guard instead of run inside the gutter. This went on for some time - calling them, out and them attempting to fix the issue and finally I got tired of all the elaborate creations each employee made to try to get the product to work so I gave up and decided to put up with that one area allowing rain splash.
Forward to 2020 and I need a new roof. The roofing company told me to have the gutter guard people remove their product before installation and then to have them replace once the new roof was installed. I did just that and coordinated getting the work done. Once the roof was installed and the gutter guard replaced, everything looked good to me.
Forward to November 2023, my GFCI tripped in the garage which covers the outside outlets. One outdoor outlet is on the wall just under where the problematic gutter guard was. I looked and noticed the cement siding around the receptacle was completely wet and rotten and the whole area was caving in. I assumed this was from the water from above.....
I called in my handy man who looked closer and told me that this wasn't the water which overflowed the gutter guard above but was from rain somehow getting in behind the siding from the roof line. He suggested I call the roofer who had installed the roof which I did. He came out next day and took detailed photos of the area above and showed me what was the culprit. After he had installed my new roof, the gutter guard installer from US Home Exteriors had drilled a hole through the step siding when he reinstalled the product after the roof install, allowing rain to gain access to inside my wall. BIG mistake. So 3 years of this unseen and the damage was done.
My handyman removed all the compromised material and I was left with a huge hole and rotten wood at the the front of my home and was told I would be losing my window too. He tarped it to keep it from further damage.
I immediately contacted US Home Exteriors and was told someone would be out to look at the damage. A manager came out Nov 22nd and took photos that supported what the roofer had said - the gutter guard installer messed up. . He told me someone would be out to repair the hole either 24th or 25th.
I hadn't heard anything by the 25th so I sent the manager a text asking what was happening. His response, " I'm trying to get in touch with my roofer. I'll let you know".
A few hours later he sent me a message asking me if his roofer made it out to me. I told him Id waited in all day and no-one had been out. He then handed things over the the VP of the company.
I asked him what I was supposed to do with the missing siding and wood at the front of my house. He told me to go ahead and get my guy to repair everything and he would get someone to replace the damaged flashing.
His roofer arrived at the same time as my handy man the next day and my guy stood back to let him do his thing..... however after having been her maybe 15 minutes or so and having removed the gutter, guard and all the hardware, he disappeared and never returned. My guy noticed he left all the hardware on my porch roof.
My guys did a great job repairing the wall and finally US Home Exteriors sent out a guy who refabricated my downspouts one last time, replaced the damaged siding and reinstalled the gutters and guards. Fortunately I did not have to replace the window.
I called the VP of the company asking how she would be reimbursing me for all the damage her company caused and she told me that even though her manager TOLD me to go ahead and get my handy man to fix the front of the house, I should NOT have done that and I should have told my handyman to NOT do the work so that US Home Exteriors could do the work instead. She refused to pay 1 penny of the damage her company caused and I have had to foot the bill myself.
AVOID this company.
