image Pup slope is amazing. Everyone is so kind and helped us through the process of purchasing two perfectly healthy puppies. What's different abt pup slope is they socialize the dogs so they are well equipped when they leave and meet other dogs. I couldn't recommend them more. They even remembered our dogs when we returned to visit. I'll be back soon!

image These puppies are from puppy mills. Pupslope tried to assure us our puppy was from a reputable breeder but would not share breeder info until after we made the purchase. The info they provided was either inaccurate or entirely made up - the breeder was not aware of the dog when we called. The breeder was also based in Missouri which is the puppy mill capital of the U.S.
Our pup showed other signs of not coming from a good place. She was not bathed and was underfed to keep her looking smaller and younger. She had no housetraining at all. She had a habit of chewing on metal and trying to eat rocks. She'd had giardia. I dont think shed ever been outdoors at all in her short life. She was spayed at an extremely young age prior to us getting her. I didnt realize how bad this is for the dogs health. Young puppies need hormones early on to support their growth and bone development. Even though we increased her nutrition, our puppy still has a very frail frame- small skull and shoulders, very thin legs. The puppy mill likely doesnt want any competition from people breeding their own dogs so they fix them when they are tiny even though this is not good for their health. Puppies should not be spayed or neutered until they are 6 months old and their bones have developed.
I wish I had known the risks and the consequences of getting a dog from an unreliable source. At the time there were no small dogs available in shelters, but now there are many. We love our pup, but she has allergies and many digestive issues and I worry about the long-term consequences of her bones being underdeveloped. If you get a dog from a reliable breeder, they will be healthier and have some house training and familiarity with a home environment saving you money at the vet and time invested in training. Vet visits are expensive and in a few months we have already spent nearly 1K on visits and meds.
Please consider adopting from a shelter- there are so many animals in need of homes right now.

image Me and my husband bought our first dog here which we love dearly, but the amount of money we have been spending to nurse him back to health has been outrageous. When we got him he had kennel cough and giardia which means all the dogs likely have these things here. I understand in a community setting sometimes this can happen, but I wonder if these things are actually being treated for the animals or if they are just waiting for owners to take care of it. I will say they were helpful with reimbursing a small cost for the kennel cough shortly after we got him and I called. But since it has been two months since we got our pup of course all the cost for the giardia is on us. Vet visit, fecal samples, constant medication. I don't even want to know how much money we have spent since getting our dog from here. Not necessarily a bad place to get your pup-I just think they need to put more preventative measures in place or give some sort of rebate if you are stuck with huge vet costs because of something the dogs got from the pet shop.
