There is another google review that that has mentioned the same issue as me:
Harness Tax did not file my state taxes correctly (specifically city taxes for nyc) and I am waiting for resolution and an explanation.
They have very poor communication. They filed the taxes right at the deadline.
I paid $1350 in total for their services. I feel like I was robbed given the issues I am having.
I am still awaiting resolution, but given there are other reviewers mentioning that city taxes were not done correctly, I would avoid this company. Waste of time and money.

Not sure what happened to this company. Once reliable, now unresponsive, slow and unaccountable. They waited to file our taxes to the very last day to file, despite having all of our paperwork in hand by February 15th. On top of it, they failed to file our city taxes. As a result of this mistake and delay in filing, our refund is lost in the world of still being processed (going on 5 months). If youre looking for a good tax service experience, keep looking. This is not the place. I would not recommend.

I had been looking for a CPA in NYC for over 2 years and had met with many independent CPAs and small firms. As someone in my mid-thirties I was looking to get serious about tax planning and wanted a modern and transparent CPA with whom I could build a meaningful longterm relationship. Fortunately that search ended when I met Dave! I initially did have questions about whether he was too young (especially from viewing his website), but upon meeting him in-person as those hesitations disappeared. I was floored by how knowledgable he was about taxes (especially in relation to the new 2017 tax bill) and how personable he was. We had a broad conversation about finances, taxes, goals, etc… and I felt so re-assured knowing I was in capable, caring hands. I had him file my 2018 returns and the process was very smooth. Clear instructions. Easy/secure document sharing. Great communication. What I appreciated most was how he really took the time to make sure I understood everything before I filed. We went through every line item and he addressed all my questions. Very satisfied, already referred two close friends and I am looking forward to doing some more long-term tax planning with Dave!
