Lived here when they first opened in Jul98. It was a good start for me. I was a 22 yr old single mother of a 3 yr old and a 3 month old. It was income based supportive housing. I lived there for 13 years. It was my first apt. I became independent, and was working for the city of NY within a year. It helped me to get some roots, raise my kids in a safe building, and even assisted my son with financial asst to attend cardinal Hayes. Though I did not like some of the ppl that worked there, and the strict rules(I did not receive govt help for the 12 years out of 13 yrs so my rent want almost $1000 a month based on income), it served its purpose. I just learned the super died and that saddened me. I’ve relocated to N.C. 2012, but always kept in touch . Overall there were good times, there were bad times, however it served its purpose and I enjoyed being on my own there and felt safe. They donated a lot of things to myself and my kids. Toys food clothes furniture etc. it was a blessing
