We originally were booked the clarion, but when we arrived they informed us they had over booked so they moved us to their sister hotel the econo lodge. They first sent us to a room that was dirty and had other peoples trash and left over luggage in it. They then gave us another room, when we got to that room we noticed the door was already cracked open. Upon walking into our room we saw a cockroach on the ground. The inside door handle came off in my hand and looked like someone had chewed on it. The bed sheets had rips and cigarette holes in it. The room smelt not great. And there were weird mucus like red stains on the walls. Had a double bed with small pillows, and only one towel. The microwave also had no spinning plate in it so it was useless. Finally, they ended up charging me for the clarion room I originally booked AND the econo lodge room we were moved too. Good water pressure though!

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever slept in.
The front desk staff was unfriendly- double charged me for my room instead of refunding it. I am still working on getting it sorted out. I was spoken down to for insisting that they keep their cockroaches (I do not want them). The ladies at the desk also lied to me, and insisted that they spray the building weekly, which could not be true because of the prominent presence of cockroaches. The woman to whom I spoke (I believe her name was Jennifer, as well as the manager, who had the same name) also declared that it's a "long-stay hotel," as if it were any excuse for the roach problem.
All in all, I caught a collective ~50 cockroaches on traps that I was given by a friend while I was in town. I cannot stress enough that this building, as suggested by other folks who have left reviews on here, should be completely torn down and rebuilt. The stench was unbearable, the shower was falling apart, and the cockroaches were a constant threat. I just want to eat my triscuits and chicken salad without worrying about my roommates (who I did not pay for) bothering me. A couple of cockroaches doesn't really mean anything - they could have made their way into the building off of someone's bags - but 50 of them caught in a second story room denotes a significantly larger problem/infestation.
Serious, it needs to be torn down and reconstructed. The building is falling apart, the rooms are filthy, and the place is infested with bugs. The Hampton Inn across the road is significantly nicer- the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast is hot and delicious.
The location was good, though. Aspen Ave. is right in the middle of everything, and I was able to easily go access whatever I'd like in the city from the there.
