Not very honest with prices. I asked for an estimate and what the worst case senerio would be before the work started. After disabling the price went up nearly $1000. Reply: not my name my initials

First, place I felt was old school style, honest, and not there to charge a 100% mark-up on parts, I could be wrong, but i will be taking my truck into them,

Took an e4od/ F350 to them for a rebuild. The whole time they were absolutely upfront and honest, and laid out several options without any pressure on me to spend more money. Jake was very eager and quick to answer any questions. I haven't had the truck back long but so far I've been very impressed with the transmission. One of the few shops I would completely trust to work on my vehicles 1 YEAR UPDATE: The truck has been daily driven at one point and made longer trips with a camp Trailer. The transmission still has no issues and runs as well as it did immediately following the rebuild Service: Transmission

Hello JD, I am sorry but I do not show a record of any customers going by JD associated with any recent repairs, the last "JD" I have on record was going back prior to 2019. If you don't go by JD please contact me and let me know the name in which your repair order would've been written up under so I can look it up and find out where there was a 1000 dollar discrepancy. Considering I do not know which vehicle or when this may have occurred on I am giving these examples purely out of speculation but there are only a few instances where a quote would fall outside of our low-high range we give as an estimate prior to doing a tear down inspection. Usually we will give a low to high estimate on a transmission repair/ rebuild. For example, the estimate could be between 3500-4500 for an overhaul or 2500-3000 for an internal repair. That is becasue tearing down the original transmission for repairs you may not know exactly what you will find damaged. So if it is a straight forward failure and the customer does not want updates or upgrades usually an overhaul will be closer to the lower end, now if we find that it needs an overhaul but the pump, or planetary gear set, or valve body is damaged beyond repair and must be replaced then it can get closer to the higher end. Depending on the type of transmission a pump could cost 300-1000 dollars a valve body 300-1200 dollars, planetary gears could be 150-1500 depending on the unit. Another thing that could cause an increase are unforseen issues that are not obvious until work begins. For example, I recently had a customer with a chevy diesel with the duramax and allison transmission. While removing the transmission we found a very large dent in his driveline. This driveline was aluminum and cost approx 1300 dollars to replace. Technically speaking his bill was around 1000 dollars more than my original verbal estimate to overhaul his transmission but one thing we always do is call our customers at each stage to give them an update. So once his transmission was removed and disassembled I was able to tell him the 2 or 3 options he had in replacing or overhauling the transmission as well as the damage found to his driveline and the cost of replacing that. But once the options are given and the customer gives us their answer as to what they want to do, the price does not change on the transmission repair. Never has and never will, no customer of mine has ever given us their answer as to the option they want then show up to get their vehicle and have an unexpected 1000 dollar increase to the repair. There are countless examples I can give as to how or why a price may be affected but these are always explained and discussed with our customers prior to addressing the issue. Please reach out to me and let me know the name and vehicle associated with this review so I can check and see if there was anything associated with you repairs that was out of line with what you were told and what you authorized us to do. Thank you.
