Assistant manager is rude. Cold air circulates on ground floor where they put me because I am handicapped. I hate this place. Waiting to hear from another apartment building. And they are liars

First of all, I am a responsible law-abiding citizen who has been very determined despite the trials and tribulations of Life. Unfortunately, I can't say too many positive things about Phoenix Towers due to what appears to be and what I experienced of poor communication with management, tenants, and staff, smoking in and around the building, and overall lack of resources. Not to mention the management of Phoenix Towers at the moment is very hostile, non-chalent, unsupportive, and very difficult to communicate with. There is a continuous bed-bug issue!! In our everyday world, it's not just about a roof over your head, it's also about support, help, and the value of different people and integrity and dignity between individuals! People should not give up on themselves, but likewise they should not be forced to live in a space where they are limited or not supported in or out of the family structure. People need therapy and opportunities!

Do not move here! This is the worst place I have ever lived, and I have lived in some bad places! The staff is so unprofessional and rude. We used to live here about 5 years ago, and it was a good place to live. When we lived here before, the previous management would come to your old apartment and inspect, to make sure you didn't bring any bugs with you. Not this management! We had heard that they had bed bugs, so I called before we moved in. I spent an hour on the phone with management, and they "assured" me that it was "under control"--they only had a couple of apartments that were being treated. Well, we hadn't been there a full day when we saw one in the bathroom. I notified them and they came to do an inspection. The exterminator came, but he wouldn't treat our apartment because HE didn't see a bug. He told us that bed bugs wouldn't be found in the bathroom, anyway. We saw the exterminator later and asked him to treat our apartment, but he told us no. Since they wouldn't treat our place, we had to take it into our own hands. We had to bomb our place with bug bombs at least twice a month--against lease policy. We also placed sticky traps under our bed, to try to prevent them getting on it. See pictures. They even charge you to throw out furniture when you get bed bugs. See pictures. When we moved out we got rid of all our kitchen appliances, just so we wouldn't be taking any bugs with us. Well, we haven't seen one bug since we moved. Our apartment was right across the hall from the garbage chute and we got those odors coming into our apartment all the time. I started using my essential oil diffuser to combat the smell. Well, I almost got a write-up because someone complained about the smell of my diffuser. Yet when I complained about the smell of dog piss in the hall, nothing was done. Someone was always trying our doorknob--any hour of the day or night. When I brought that up with management, they said they would look at the cameras. There was a problem with one of my money orders, and instead of talking to me about it the manager changed the name on the money order and deposited it into her personal account, then wrote a check to cover my rent. But there was a problem with her bank. We spent months trying to get this straightened out. In their house rules it states that bug treatment is mandatory; they have to give 24-hour notice. I almost got a write up because we were out of town, seeing a friend. I never received a notice, if I had I would have made sure I was there. They also said I was letting the garbage build up, when my garbage can wasn't even half full. Management/staff are so lazy. The bug man and maintenance workers could often be seen sitting in the office, talking, instead of doing their jobs. The place is off the hook. The residents act like sex-starved teenagers! They were apartment hopping all the time, spreading COVID and bed bugs. They have parties after office hours--even though they were not supposed to because of COVID safety protocols. They advertise all these amenities--that you can't use! After we moved out, we did a walk-through with management. (We had heard from previous residents that they would charge for cleaning out the apartments, saying you left stuff in your behind.) Not two days later, we received a letter stating we would be receiving a refund on our security deposit within 30 days. Well, it is now going on two months, and I still haven't received it. I just went to visit a friend who still lives there and the place has gone downhill bad! There is no flooring on the ground floor because of a sewer line leak. There is no carpeting in the hallways because of the sewer leak. They don't even seem to be trying to fix the problems. This is so unsafe for the residents forced to live here. It took us over a year, but we finally got out of this awful place. So take my advice and don't move here!
