We checked in; the lobby was pretty up-to-date and the popcorn machine was a nice touch. Annoyingly though, the pool was "closed for renovations." Well, those supposed "renovations" clearly haven't started happening yet. Then we went up to our room, which smelled old and musty. The tint wrap was peeling off the windows. I'm not a big fan of the drop ceiling in the entryway and bathroom, because it looks dated. The rest of the room doesn't look dated though. Another thing I'm not a fan of is the access panel behind the shower head in the bathroom, because it looks industrial and uninviting. The shower knob, the shower head, and the toilet looked pretty old, like they could use a refresh. There was a crack in the stone wall of the shower. Aside from all that, the room wasn't too bad. The beds were nice, and we noticed that the pillows were either labeled "soft" or "firm", which is cool since people have different preferences. The breakfast buffet had a nice range of food, and the women working at it were nice. The bar and the pool table in the lobby was also nice.
Overall, this hotel could use some updates, but is clean, tidy, and is cheap for a family that needs to spend a night near the airport they're flying out of.
