The worst healthcare in the Birmingham area. We arrive at least twenty minutes early and are left waiting after our appointment start time with no explanation. These people obviously do not value your time.

This hospital is an absolute nightmare! I can't fathom why they're even in business. After making me wait for over six agonizing months for my appointment, they casually cancel it with no explanation whatsoever. I'm told the doctor won't be available on that daythen why the hell did they make me endure six months of anticipation? When I had the audacity to call them back, they had the nerve to inform me that there's not a single doctor available within the VIVA UAB system for the next 12 months. We're shelling out hundreds of dollars each month for VIVA UAB, and what do we get? Medical West playing a cruel joke on us with no available doctors for the next year. It's beyond infuriating what a pathetic excuse for a healthcare service!

My dad went in 2 weeks ago to have is gallbladder removed and they left the surgical clamp in him and left gallstones in his bile duct and went septic UAB WEST BESSEMER MURDERED MY DAD

I was almost killed at this place. I was dropped off at this hospital by ambulance, because less than 24 hours prior I had been released from big UAB from having colon removal surgery. I told the staff upon entering that my colon had just been removed and I think something is wrong. I was put in a room and told I needed to give a urine sample.I came from the restroom with 2 drops of urine in the cup that were dark brown.My kidneys were failing from the failed surgery.They gave me water and told be I needed to produce urine,put me in room,dimmed lights,and refused to answer buzzer.I was told be quiet my anxiety is acting up.Keep in mind I do not have anxiety. With 5% left on my phone I called a relative who is a retired nurse and she made a call to someone else.This lazy staff then rushed in my room,did test,learned that where I was put back together had failed,then I was rushed to a better hospital. If not for me making a call to someone outside this hospital I would of been dead.KNOWING what surgery I had just had they told me wait time would be 6 hours.I was of been dead in the next 2-3 if not for the relative on the outside.Why stick someone that you know had just had a surgery that major in a room knowing it could mean death.RUN RUN RUN in my opinion.
