The ED at St. Charles is the worst place in this community for assistance. They take forever to help anyone and if you dare to raise your a concern that you are not being seen a timely fashion they will put you to the back of the line. I left the ED after not being seen for an asthma concern, crashed my car not even a mile down the road after leaving due to the issue.

The worst facility I have ever experienced! Zero accountability from staff, constantly being lied to and gaslighted by doctors and nurses. I absolutely do NOT recommend having your baby here! If you're in Central Oregon, make a plan for being in Portland for your 3rd trimester! The NICU is a joke as well. You will be told one thing, just to be told a completely different thing was the goal and "Well, I'm sorry that wasn't communicated to you."

St.Charles, youve done it again and somehow managed to make me feel very at ease when Im in massive pain and going into a scary surgery. After spending about 5 hours at Summit Urgent Care, it was finally confirmed I needed an emergency appendectomy. Everything at St.Charles from the check-in at same day surgery, the care team before and after, was smooth, compassionate and made me feel at ease. I wish I could remember everyones names! The overnight stay was not something I wanted to do, but the care team in the short stay wing was funny, accommodating and made me feel great. Shout out to Jordan on the night shift! She was so great and was patient with my 8000 questions. Thank you again to St.Charles staff for you hard work, compassion and care. Its not easy work, and when people come in ornery and in pain you seem to have a way for making them smile.

Check-in time for surgery was 5:30am at the SCMC. On arrival the intake nurse one whose name I did not get was incredibly personable, efficient, and professional. I do know that she lives outside of Bend, perhaps in La Pine, so her day starts even earlier. The nursing staff that prepped me for surgery, that were in attendance during surgery, that were with me during recovery, and those attending to me for my one-night stay were truly remarkable. All were attentive to my many post-operative needs promptly, efficiently, effectively, and with a professional expertise that speaks to their dedication to their craft. Kudos and life-long thanks to Cari, Keri, Katie, Caitlin, Mabel, Tracy, and Andrew. If any have been left from the list I apologize, it is unintentional. Ive used the specialties of Dr. Butts, anesthesiologist for this surgery, during a prior surgery and he too should be highly recommended. His abilities in the field, his interpersonal skills, his explanations about what to expect from his procedures, and his genuine concern for the comfort and presumed patient anxiety deserves note. The surgeon, Dr. Willis from SUMMIT Urology, is among the very few in the medical profession that I trust implicitly. His expertise on the Surgical Robot is admirable, as is his ability to explain and recommend the many options available for treatment for his patients. And remarkably, he is well versed in the documentation within a patients file and he does not come to a consultation unprepared or unaware of his patients history. I appreciate both his honesty and integrity when making suggestions for what sorts of procedures can be offered to a patient and what to expect from the procedure. All in all, I did not expect to be writing such a review of SCMC. Some of my prior visits to SCMC were not met with the professionalism and exemplary performance as was this visit. But, given the significance of this surgery and the dedication of the staff during my stay, this visit did indeed merit comment.
