Sadly, Murphy's has closed.  Perhaps it was time for John and his family and crew to retire. I sure will miss those guys!

I normally do not post negative reviews on any platform about any company... But, this is an exception. Knowing already that my starter was needing replaced (told to me by two separate & independent shops), I took my car over to Murphy's Garage to have them assess the car and give an estimate on time frame & cost. They agreed that the starter needed to be replaced. But went on to say that the battery, "only had one functioning cell left" and that, "the alternator should be replaced, because it will eventually go out." The alternator comment had and still has an overwhelming consensus believing; yes it will EVENTUALLY go out... But until that is necessary, it... well... isn't. Here's why I feel I am justified to leave this review: 1. When telling Murphy's that the battery was less than 3 months old. They said, "well, it's under warranty... if you know where you got it." When I told them I had bought it from Howdy Honda, they threw unnecessary shade by saying, "well, you could've gotten a better one that wasn't defective by going to Napa." 2. I took the car to Howdy Honda to have the battery tested. They let me stand there as they explained what numbers it should read on their machines for a new battery (mine) and what numbers it was reading. The battery was performing as it should. Perfectly. 3. This all took place 15 months ago. Since then, neither the battery nor the alternator have had a problem at all. 4. This was a failed attempt to make unnecessary money for unnecessary services on (what they assumed was) an uneducated customer.

We've had over 30 years of positive experiences with Murphy's. They are so knowledgeable and great diagnosticians. And impeccably honest. I have gone in thinking I knew what was needed, dreading a big bill. More than once, I was told it was actually something else, much less expensive. Services: Brakes, Oil change, Air conditioning, Carburetor cleaning, Electrical repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Steering & suspension repair, Battery, Transmission, Engine repair, Exhaust, A/C installation & repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Wheel alignment

I was referred to them by a coworker 20+ years ago and have been a loyal customer since with multiple vehicles. They are always fast, honest and reasonable. Services: Brakes, Oil change, Air conditioning, Transmission, Engine repair, General repairs & maintenance
