Moved here from Texas (Pre-Covid) Found this place just driving by.. one of the best decisions I've made living here. Nice amenities, gym, pool.. easy access to the freeways & stores nearby. Courtney, one of the staff members was always kind. Maintenance was on time with orders, enough parking spots for guest. Overall 5/5. If I ever move to Augusta, I'll pick this place again.

i lived in the highland for almost 2 years with my roommate and never really had any issues there except for people slipping in behind residents through the gate. once i moved out i did have an issue with the office taking half of my security deposit because "they had to have ADT come out and turn off the system" which i know for a fact isnt true because i had that system turned off about two weeks before i moved out.

This apartment is in a good location (near the highway and shopping center), and the grounds are pretty nice, but it has its issues: -Renovated units are only 1st floor. Other units are not luxury apartments, but they are ok. The lighting fixtures and fans looked new, but the countertops and bathroom sink were dated. My unit also smelled old. -Only Wow internet and cable are allowed. -Package pickup hours are inconvenient. The office closes before I can get there after work. A few times I tried to call the office and ask them to leave my package in the hallway, but they forgot to leave it out for me twice. -The computers (aka "internet cafe" that was advertised when I moved in) were not available 24hrs as the website stated when I moved in. It is only open when the leasing office is open. -The gate breaks almost every month. Sometimes visitors try to tailgate and end up breaking the bar that goes up and down. Sometimes the gate is just left open, and I'm not sure why. Twice I thought the gate was broken and that it was just set to stay open, but then the bar came down on my car. -The comupter system at the gate to let visitors in is hard to use. -Rain water gets in through my windows and collects in the window sill and caused mold. -I can hear the people in the apartments above me and next to me alot of the time (talking, walking around)

I originally loved the community. However, maintenance and management have managed to sour my opinion. I have only been able access my mailbox once. Each time I attempt to use the key with which I am supplied, it won’t turn. Maintenance denied the issue ever existed and I had to go to the office to prove to management that I was having an issue. It was fixed once; however, when I returned the next day my key no longer worked in the door. My upstairs neighbor builds furniture all day and all night. I’m not sure if he ever rests. I have recordings of his behavior and tried to resolve the issue with him. He stops for a day or two, but then goes right back to the nuisance behavior. Unfortunately. The leasing office has stopped answering the messages I have left for them in the app that they ask for people to use AND ignores my phone calls and messages. I would NOT recommending moving into this apartment complex as the management is apparently largely unresponsive to issues that do not resolve themselves.

I was set to move in on December 8th, however, my better judgement led me not to. To be fair I’ll list the good and the bad of my experience. But I’ll say upfront, I do not recommend leasing here. It is not luxury, it is overpriced mediocrity. Pros: -Basic Security: This complex is entirely gated. The few times I went to visit, the gate was in working order. Besides that, there don’t seem to be any other security measures. -Location: There is access to two main roads and highways. The complex sits on a back road overlooking Bobby Jones expressway. This offers more route options & privacy. It’s close to the major shopping areas, which is really nice. Cons: -Poor insulation: The reviews about water and mold around the windows are true. The leasing agents will tell you that the buildings are old & that this is normal but it is not. It’s a hazard & is the cause of poor upkeep. Regardless of the experience described below, this is a structural issue that I’m certain persists for the majority of tenants & was ultimately the determining factor for me not leasing a different unit. -False Advertising: The pictures you see on the website & the show unit you may tour does not represent the unit you will most likely lease. Unfortunately, this complex has an issue with transparency and does not disclose the fact that only some of the buildings are actually renovated. This wouldn’t be an issue if there were pictures of the units online. And up until recently (as in late this month), there were no indications online that distinguished renovated units from non-renovated ones, which leads me to believe that they’ve updated it. The pictures attached are screenshots from the video I took the day I was supposed to move in. I was expecting quarts countertops & stainless steel appliances as shown online. Unfortunately, I was met with black & scorched countertops, dingy yellowing cabinets, not stainless steel appliances, stinky carpet, and water pooling on the window sills. I confronted the staff & they basically treated me like I dropped the ball for not informing them that I expected what I toured and saw online. I was told explicitly that they would’ve told me if I had asked or let them know that I had “specific requirements”, which is a lame way of saying that they failed to do their job. Mind you, the tenants vacated the unit on November 30th & it didn’t get cleaned until December 7th, the day before I was supposed to move in. It’s likely that had I not pressed to see it first, they wouldn’t have let me. As a general rule, ALWAYS ask to see the unit before you hand over your money & finalize your lease ! If they decline, run! Don’t get trapped with bs because a complex like this cares more about profit than integrity. -Unprofessional Staff/Poor Communication: Out of respect, I won’t name names. However, the leasing agents don’t handle problems very well. The tenants who literally pay the money that goes toward their checks should not have to argue, call repeatedly, or have to drive to the office to handle issues. The experience I had was an inconvenience to me on their behalf but I was treated as if I inconvenienced them. This is definitely what left the worst taste in my mouth. Better communication, transparency, and a more well rounded & professional staff could’ve easily avoided the entire situation.
