As a minority woman of color and a person with disabilities, my experience in this condo community has been marred by what I believe to be consistent unequal treatment, especially from the board and management. This has manifested in various forms, from condescending communication to disproportionate penalization for minor infractions, leading to significant financial and emotional distress, repeated harassing letters from the Association's Attorney, who has intimidated me from even exercising my First Amendment Rights These instances have not only affected my dignity and respect but have also led to significant financial disparities due to unnecessary legal expenses and parking issues. In 2018, a minor oversight of leaving a grocery bag in a full trash room led to the Manager forcefully advocating to the board for a disciplinary hearing against me. A board member even brazenly suggested to colleagues that I should "MOVE OUT OF THE CONDO" I own. This extreme stance was in stark contrast to the leniency shown to my white neighbors for similar or greater lapses The parking situation has been a continual source of stress and financial burden. Despite owning a parking spot, I've frequently been unable to use it due to other tenants' cars encroaching into my space. In 2014, after a minor parking misalignment caused by another car's encroachment, I received a harassing email from the management demanding immediate correction, a demand not similarly imposed on my white neighbors. As another example, In November 2019, the issue escalated when Manager, dismissed my complaints about a neighbor's car encroaching my space as "NITPICKING OVER NON_ISSUE" related to "AIRSPACE ENCROACHMENT." This dismissive attitude forced me to seek outside parking, exacerbating my financial strain and physical discomfort, especially during flare-ups of my disability. The situation worsened in January 2023 when the same neighbor's car, a huge Mustang encroached my own parking spot for days. Despite my repeated pleas for resolution, the Manager's response was not only unhelpful but also demeaning. I was unable to use my own parking spot for my caregiver. The Manager accused me of quote "BARKING" over the issue, a remark I found deeply offensive and prejudiced. Asserting my rights resulted in an unfounded hearing in a Kangaroo Court by an All-White board, unfairly placing me on probation for using my First Amendment rights a penalty not given to others for similar expressions. This peaked with a baseless 2023 hearing, costing me thousands in legal fees, further exacerbating the financial disparity I face. I have observed other residents vehemently expressing their discontent over various community issues, such as pool renovation that has experienced significant delays and has gotten so expensive, constant floods/leaks, window repairs, elevator breakdowns, etc (see the reviews posted earlier by Eric Rothschild, its all very true) without facing similar repercussions. The pattern of my concerns of unequal treatment continued unabated into October 2023, when yet again, a white tenant's car, this time, a huge Ford Bronco, which encroached on my parking space while they were out of town. Despite the clear inconvenience and violation of my rights, the association's response to the tenant was starkly different from the aggressive tactics employed against me. No action was taken to move her car immediately, causing me to wait for ~6 days for their return, no hearing was convened for the tenant, the tenant was not put on probation, despite ongoing and significant infractions and the tenant was not subjected to the financial and emotional toll of defending their actions, as I had been repeatedly forced to do. The Association Attorney has defended their progressively harsh actions against me, disregarding my complaints of unfair treatment. Their latest attempt blatantly downplays the misconduct of the white tenant, Stand for fairness Your voice matters in driving change!

Front concierge is childish and petty. I was only trying to ask a question and she seemed like she had something better to do and was rude.

I decided to rent at this property before considering buying a condo here and my experience has been worse than any other apartment complex I have previously resided and I have been in the area for a decade. Infrastructure: Although the building boasts "concrete walls separating units" I can hear my neighbors' TVs, conversations and perpetually barking dogs. There have been numerous floods and window repairs which have taken months to replace and albeit the build mgmt will state that it's due to the contractors' fault, one must ask who selected these contractors to begin with. In addition, the pool renovation project on the roof is a complete failure. They decided to close the rooftop (a year-round amenity with active hot tub and grills) in October 2022 and did not obtain permits until Spring 2023. Why close the key amenity for 6 months while nothing was being done? This initiated construction of the pool a few months before pool season and the decision was made to close the pool for the season rather than initiate construction in October 2023 given permits were just granted. It is now October 2023 and the pool is nowhere near completion. Once again, management will blame others rather than their own issues with effective project planning and factoring in key dependencies when deriving an estimate and when to initiate a project without impacting the owners and tenants' lives. Also, the HVAC in each unit is obscenely loud - after discussing this with multiple guests it is not a unit-by-unit issue rather it's which heat pump is compliant for the building's infrastructure. Be prepared to wear ear plugs to sleep whenever the AC is on and have the TV at full blast when it kicks in during the day. Price: Condo fees are atrocious given you are receiving same qualities as living at a failed construction site. $500k for a 1BR excluding condo fees at 8% IR? Really? People: Nice, but ineffective. It's easy to be nice, but you're paid to do your jobs and the administration here are simply not up to the tasks at hand. The majority of the "owners" of these condos rent out their units so it attracts a younger crowd and as a result more parties on weeknights, etc. Location: I understand that proximity to nightlife yields noise, but this is in a league of its own. There are leaf blowers who march down N Fillmore Street 3x per week for multiple hours throughout all seasons (why?) and the garbage collection is a 3x per week (again, necessary) but lasts several hours for all the adjacent buildings. The ambulances and other late night roaring vehicles down 10th St N echo through the building which of course encourages the herd of dogs to bark throughout the evenings. Simply put - you are better off owning / renting at nearly any other location in this area.
