Stuart Dessner DMD Oral Surgeon

Been trying to reach his office and finally through an inquiry through their website, I was told to contact Dr. Dessner directly. Finally reached him, he has closed his practice, retired. He was not being reasonable to provide documentation or dates of when claims were submitted to the insurance companies (medical and dental) for my son's wisdoms extraction. He keeps stating that the insurance companies are not our friend and they will do what they want to do. This is not true, for I have many claims over the years with the same insurance company with no issues. All other medical / dental practices have not had issues with communication and providing information to their clients. All that I ask for was dates of when the claims were submitted so I can follow-up with the insurance companies. He stated that I need to file the claim myself. I said that was not acceptable since that was not was agreed upon, that before the procedure of wisdom extractions, that his office will submit all claims and will send us a statement. He did not finish the conversation and hung up on me.

Excellent doctor. Made me feel comfortable with the diagnosis, and explained all the details of the surgery, including potential side-effects. I saw him 2-3 times post-surgery for follow-ups, with no extra charge. Staff was very polite and courteous. This is the only doctor who will sit with the patient and explain each and every detail of the biopsy report, to make sure the patient feels comfortable.

Took all three of our kids to Dr. Dessner for wisdom teeth extraction. Quick and easy procedure; kind and professional staff. No drama, no complications.

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed and I will recommend this place to everyone I know. Dr. Stuart Dessner made me feel comfortable and put me at ease. His staff is amazing. I literally just went they put me to sleep and I woke up like nothing happened. I did not remember anything. Thank you very much to doctor and the staff.

Dr. Stuart Dessner and his staff lack professionalism and a comforting environment. I was scheduled to have my wisdom teeth extracted by him and his team, however, I left after being treated so poorly. His staff were rude and came off under qualified and unprofessional. This initially made me nervous about the surgery, so I asked to meet Dr. Dessner to address my concerns and hopefully receive some reassurance. I told Dr. Dessner that I wasn't fully comfortable receiving the surgery yet because of how I was treated by his staff. He slammed his foot down and told me that my concerns were unwarranted, as he has been in the business 30 some years. I told him that I wasn't looking for an argument, just looking for some comforting before going into the surgery. Which I thought was a reasonable request after dealing with his rude staff. He became overwhelmed and clearly pissed off at my concerns. He told me that I was being rude for questioning the professionalism of his office. However, it is a major concern. I told him that I would not be getting my wisdom teeth extracted by him and left the patient room. On my way out he yells to his staff "well, looks like she's not getting her wisdom teeth out" and throws his arms in the air. Then as I'm walking out the door he screams "your loss". Dr. Dessner completely lost his cool. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor or his staff, let alone been yelled at or humiliated by a doctor. This office completely lacks professionalism. I will never be going back there. If I could give him a 0/5 rating I would.
