Following my first city assessment after I bought my new first house in 2020, my mortgage payments almost doubled. Crosscountry claimed my taxes went up resulting in an escrow shortage which i had to pay back. After months of phone calls, CrossCountry kept saying it was all due to my higher taxes. I learned that crosscountry had on file two parcels for my property-- mine and my neighbor's-- and I was paying my neighbors taxes into my escrow each month. I brought this to their attention and forced them to fix the error and perform an escrow reanalysis. They did, but after the reanalysis they only lowered my payments by like 100$ a month. Meanwhile my escrow account grew and grew well past what I would need to cover my taxes and insurance (to almost twice my annual tax bill). What kind of mortgage lender let's a first time homeowner accrue an escrow balance twice as large as the annual tax bill?? Don't they know how to perform an escrow reanalysis?? I called the branch manager in Ann Arbor who told me "well the city's taxes are really high". Yea right. So high its like I'm paying for my neighbor's property too. If you use them, please be cautious and prepare to work very hard to correct any errors they make as they won't be straight forward or helpful.

My loan originator Kyle Bogardus was exceptional. He went above and beyond to answer any questions I had and to advocate for me during the underwriting process. He was always responsive and worked tirelessly to close the loan. I would highly recommend Kyle if you are looking for a mortgage and personally will be going back to CCM and Kyle Bogardus for all my future lending needs.

I'm a veteran and a full-time student graduate student, and I had a difficult time being able to afford a mortgage and getting a bank approve me for one, but CrossCountry Mortgage got it done efficiently and effectively. I highly recommend.

Rick Richter and his team have handled literally dozens of my and my familys and friends mortgages. We keep coming back because they are committed to providing their local neighbors with a distinctly personal service. That is a refreshing experience in the mortgage business!!!!
