Didn't try to up-sell anything and were very informative when it came to the break down of what was to be expected. Jeff from Marksmen was also very friendly and timely. All 3 of the oil tank removal co's that a real estate agent recommended low balled their quotes, sent multi-page contracts with numerous upcharges & additional fees (eg. $35 for a no parking sign?, extra fee for just coming out to look at access to the tank location), spoke to me in a patronizing tone & mansplained which was the worst part (one even asking to speak to my husband instead!). I was able to research & found the old company (no longer in business) that emptied my oil tank back in 1998 (Norcon Environmental did it the right way by taking pictures of the whole process of opening / emptying / sand backfill, sending copies of the permit, disposal receipts & our town's inspection certificate of emptied & abandoned in place tank etc. SO GLAD we kept all of these pictures & documents!) & they recommended Marksmen Enterprises. From the start, Marksmen was very responsive, sending one of their team (at no charge!) to assess access to the oil tank, sending the quote for the abandoned in place 550 gallon tank removal & sending a team of 2 to do the removal. The guys arrived on time at 8:15am (arrival window was 8am-11am). The truck & excavator they brought did not take up the whole street & did not require closing off the street or police involvement to redirect traffic (this is what other companies tried to "scare" me with as far as project complexity & extra fees). The Marksmen guys were VERY careful & hard working, making sure to lay down the rubber mats in front of the excavator so the lawn grass didn't get trashed (just getting around the property to the tank took 45 min). The process of digging out, cutting open the tank, removing the sand, removing the tank, getting top soil to refill the hole, backfilling & removal of tank to their trunk took around 4 1/2 hours. They even took the time to literlly brush the extra dirt off the grass area around the refilled hole in order to leave the whole area as clean as it was at the beginning. The 2 guys they sent were so very polite, professional & conscientious - I was very happy with their work! The only issue we had was they had to cut one of the sprinkler pipes to access the underground tank (thats the pipe sticking up in one of the photos) - but this was expected as per the contract & knowing we had the sprinker system in place & the guys made sure to point it out first before cutting it. The final close out packet of documents included a final letter of completion of project, receipt of scrapping the oil tank, copies of all check payments (50% upfront after contract signed, 25% when tank removed, 25% + additional charge for wheelbarrow with final invoice), & contractor non-leaking tank certificate. (note - You need to keep all of these documents & pictures if you ever want to sell your house.) All final costs were in line with the initial quote - I paid $2147 total which was very reasonable. Debra the Admin Assistant at Marksmen was incredibly responsive and helpful answering questions and keeping me updated at every step of the way. I HIGHLY recommend Marksmen Enterprises if you need an oil tank emptied &/or removed.

Marksmen was a pleasure to work with. they replaced my ancient heating oil tank with a beautiful Roth tank.They were very fast and cleaned up after they were done. I would highly recommend them to any one !
