Lived in an apartment for a few months from November 2021- July 2022. Called to cancel and found it difficult to get a hold of them, eventually spoke to someone and they said they would close my account. Got a call about a bill and that the account was still open roughly 4 months later. I told her I couldnt pay online because they deleted my account from their system. They asked me to come in and pay the bill even though I moved over two hours away and they hung up. Found out yesterday that they still had the account in my name and the new person living there was paying the bill in person somehow and recently they stopped paying and sent the account to collections. Cant really wrap my head around this one, as there has been at least one new tenant living there for over a year and the lease requires you to get the utility in your name. Ill call tomorrow to settle up with them and try to close the asking again, but Id avoid working with them if possible. Someone should really do something about their business practices and processes, they cant make it so impossible to do things, like close your account, call the office and do things like make non in person payments. Also I found that their new system lets you create an account if you know the account number send service address and pull up all billing info on the address, so if you have retain an old bill you can always get into your account and associate it to a new email even if they delete your account. This could have been explained to me other than I dont know come in person to pay the bill
