Not to be trusted, a liar and profit motivated! Unkind. My daughter was a cleft patient with Kaiser. Dr. Feathers got them to cover expenses for early surgery preparation for an under bite at 10 years old to expand the palate with a quad-helix. My daughter was unable to swallow or eat, so I called up frantic to have her remove it. We never went back. Years later, every orthodontist confirmed no quad-helix was ever needed. A girl with a similar situation we talked to had her palate over expanded by Dr. Feathers. She is not to be trusted, is out for profit.

Dr Feather might have credentials and years of experience, but compassion she has none. She is rude, even cold with kids. She is especially nasty with minority children, but this is California the great salad bowl of cultures and people; so a few training sessions on tolerance might do her good. Our experience with her has never been repeated with any other provider.... for the sake of future patience hopefully she changes her bad behavior and picks up some good old fashion bedside manners.

Horrible! Went to Dr. Feather when I was a teenager. Initial consultation I was covered by Medi-Cal and Healthy Families because my bite and teeth were bad enough to qualify as medical necessity. She was great, welcoming, made me feel really comfortable when I was extremely nervous. Started the procedure and first two months great. Then we find out that her receptionist supposedly sent the paperwork incorrectly and she's not going to get paid as much as she expected, but had to complete the procedure because of the agreement. After that my treatment was completely different. Constantly made me feel like a trash charity case. Not as warm, friendly, or inviting anymore. When her glitzy clients would come up from Newport Beach I'd get pulled out of my chair and made to wait until she'd worked on them; happened numerous times over the whole course of my treatment. Get my braces off, teeth beautiful, start retainers. About three months into retainers, one of my front teeth starts moving out. Retainer keeps getting adjusted for about five months with her rudely grilling me like I'm not wearing them enough. Low and behold discovers it's not me, but something that happens in only a few of her patients where the tooth root needs to be severed. Tells me it's a procedure that a lot of orthodontists do but she doesn't, so we just continue as is. Then, conveniently, at the appointment after I turn 18, she suddenly says lets put braces back on you at the price of a normal full treatment to fix that little problem...
