Loved every minute of my stay! Comfortable, clean, safe and relaxing! Sounds like things have greatly improved since the older reviews, hated to read those, because my experience was fantastic and I’d love to be able to stay again and again! I loved the comfortable furniture, I was a lazy snuggly bug and the blankets!!! Lord I loved them fuzzy throws all over the place!

We stayed at Black Ridge Cabin on Skinner Road in Hocking Hills and it was wonderful! The cabin was fully stocked with the comforts of home plus some!! The cabin was very clean, warm and the fireplaces were so nice! We absolutely loved it and I would use it again with a big group. 😄 the reservation, payment Process and response to questions was superb! And of course the area is beautiful always!!! Great job Black Ridge Cabins!

I stayed at the Black Ridge Cabin 11/22 - 11/26/2017 over Thanksgiving Break. I made a post on Facebook regarding my terrible stay and he DELETED my review and blocked me from Facebook. The cabin was filthy and we ended up leaving early. I should have trusted my gut instinct when I called and spoke with him directly regarding my reservation....FYI...He does not accept credit card payments....only CHECK or CASH and I know why....He is a scumlord owner that expects you to pay top dollar to stay at a poorly maintained cabin. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

We stayed here from 7/6-7/9. The house over all wasn’t bad but for the price we paid for the weekend we were expecting a little more. When we first arrived there was a bra tag from Victorian secret just on the top of the “master” comforter which made me wonder if it was thoroughly cleaned. The only actually bedroom door didn’t latch close. The kitchen was large but needs some help. The fridge door (even when empty) doesn’t shut completely. The kitchen faucet sprays too much and literally the entire counter and yourself are soaked when doing dishes. The email states they provide dish washing soap and while that is true it’s was just watered down soap so they didn’t need to buy a new one which is about $3? The pots and pans are limited and make it difficult to cook for a group of 6. The cooking utensils were to laugh at. There was barely any serving spoons, ladles, and spatulas. The email also states they have plastic storage containers. They don’t. There was one “storage container” that was an empty and cleaned large yogurt container. The bath room on the first door has a plastic shower curtain in the tub and it was dirty which is a cheap and easy fix from Walmart $10? The fire pit needs raked out. It’s so full of old ashes. It would also be nice to have the yard mowed so walking from the house to the fire pit wasn’t over grown. The TVs were tiny which I know isn’t the reason we came on the weekend get away but for over $1300 for 3 days a tv larger than 19 inch box screen in the bed room would be nice. Overall the cabin was nice but at that price I wasn’t expecting more even if it is only a weekend getaway. It seems like they don’t particularly care about the property or ensuring the guests stay in comfortable more about getting your money. Nice cabin but we won’t stay here next time.

I stayed at the property on Skinner Road and what a disaster! I reviewed the property on the Facebook site, but after another patron also had a similar experience and reviewed it on that Facebook site, the site was disabled. We stayed at the Skinner Road property November 2-5, 2017. Upon entering the cabin, we noticed numerous dead flies (or "dormant") in the kitchen/dining room (and quite a few actually on the dining room table). It was disgusting. then, when we went up to the loft area, there were literally HUNDREDS more dead flies mainly near the doorwall. We started to notice living flies that were flying around the entire cabin. We called the owner to let him know and that we would be vacuuming them up (which we did). The situation only got worse. More flies kept appearing and we notified the owner along the way. Then things got even worse...the wasps came out! We were sitting at the dining room table and wasps started coming out of no where! I believe we killed 6-7 wasps that evening alone. The owner did have an exterminator come out but there really wasn't anything that could be done (or that would take affect while we were staying). Keep in mind, we are updating the owner consistently. He had the nerve to tell us that we were exaggerating, that the cleaning crew was there 1.5 hours earlier. That is impossible! Needless to say, our trip was all but ruined, the entire Hocking Hills area was booked solid and we had just spent a few hundred dollars on groceries for our extended weekend. The owner refused to give us any sort of reimbursement. Besides the bug infestation, the hot tub was not at all hot (warm bath), the kitchen utensils were laughable (I'm glad we cooked our main meal ahead of time) and the mattresses!!! Sleeping on the floor would have been equally as comfortable. But, the owner insisted things, weren't that bad and even questioned why we were sleeping in the loft anyway. Um, we paid for the space, it's none of his business which beds we used (there were 4 adults). NEVER AGAIN will we be staying at any of the Black Ridge Cabins and shame on the owner or trying to hide the truth.
