Hampton Inn Florence-Midtown

This was a great hotel stay. It was clean and well maintained. Our highpoint was an excellent morning breakfast. Rich, the "breakfast attendant", was so very knowledgeable about Northern Alabama and specifically Florence. He is a better tour guide than most who work as a tour guide!

This hotel is under a renovation, so I completely understand that a lot is happening and can impact your view of the stay. All rooms have been remodeled, however hallways, lobby and common areas have not. My big complaint about this hotel though is the cleanliness of it. I was immediately knocked down with a Christmas tree air freshener scent that was throughout the entire hotel. The smell was so strong I developed a headache. At the point I arrived, there was no other option to change hotels. I stay at hotels a lot and this, in my opinion, is unacceptable. The cleanliness of the room is subpar. Toilet rims were not wiped, and sheets had hairs on them.

Nachell, at the front desk, totally set the tone of exceptional professionalism & warm friendly customer service. She exhibited this prior & now during our long-term stay. Very appreciative & thankful she assisted me in selecting the just right location!

What a beautiful hotel, friendly staff, very clean rooms! The reason for a 2 stars the hotel from the moment you walk in and up to your room as an odor of pine. My allergies I cant not breath the pine the smell is so strong..
