Ive been at CP for four years now and recently moved into a renovated unit. For the conveniences the neighborhood provides, I continue to believe this property is a good deal. The apartments are considerably bigger than newer buildings recently built nearby. The maintenance staff is thorough and timely, and the property managers are reasonable and easy to work with.

Convenient location that is a short walk to the Metro system, grocery stores, pharmacy, restaurants, and shops. Adjacent to Old Town (15 to 20-minute walk). Newly renovated common areas and most apartments. Clean and modern amenities. Friendly front desk, and responsive maintenance/service team. Robert and Malachi from the Leasing Office consistently provided excellent service, being consummate professionals from move-in to move-out. Largely friendly tenants. Dog friendly. An occasional power or water issue (as expected in apartment buildings), but usually resolved in a timely manner. Some ambient background noise due to proximity to Metrorail system (not in control of the building).

Resident for 3 years now. Apartment Quality: Major boost over the past year with renovations. However, those renovations are ongoing and being a neighbor to an apartment getting worked on is dreadful if you work from home. If you move into the newly renovated place, the hardwood floors are great, spacious, and bright (depending on the layout). Appliances are great with no complaints other than the sound that the HVAC unit makes. Its pretty noticeable in smaller apartments where its basically in the kitchen/living area. Maintenance: Its a mixed bag here. The On-Site people are fantastic, I have never had to wait more than a day for maintenance for something the on-site crew would be able to take care of. However, work that needs to get contracted out takes a long time. The West Tower Elevator work has been ongoing for many months now. Updates were rare, and confidence in the elevators themselves was questionable. They are both working now, but who knows when the next week long breakdown will happen on one of them. Other contract work: I reported a roof leak, and the contractors that came in were fantastic, worked with my schedule, and have been fixing the problem. General Staff: There has been some changes over the past few months, but the leasing staff and the concierges have all been great to us, are friendly, and informative. There has been a lot of renovations to the lobby, apartments, and common areas, and they all rolled with the punches. Overall: Great place to live with pets, most people are friendly, on site staff are great, apartment noise is bad during maintenance, but updating the apartments has to happen sometime. Pricing is a bit more that the larger metro area, but less than other places (including Paradigm owned) in the Carlyle area.

4.5/5 actually. Living at Carlyle Place was an interesting experience. While things were very negative at first, by the time I left thing had SIGNIFICANTLY improved. The apartments are gorgeous no doubt. The building had several issues throughout my time living there, however, change of management has significantly improved the place by addressing concerns and repairs: fixing emerging issues promptly. The new management team is attentive and caring. With this new management's guidance, the leasing team seams under less stress and much more open to working with residents. The building is still going through renovations and, when finalized, it would significantly improve residents living. They are really trying to improve, and are willing to work with you if you respectfully reach out and work with them. Boiler issues and elevator issues are being actively repaired and reviewed to finally fix problems. Security is improving. Package management is much much improved. Overall, if I moved back to the area I would not doubt choosing Carlyle Place as my next home. Give them a chance! It's a nice place and they're doing everything they can to make it better.
