    Came for a staycation and from the get-go the staff was amazing. The valet, front desk and bar staff were so friendly and helpful. The location was also amazing and convenient. We were able to walk within 2 mins to restaurants like Saltine for dinner and Grain for Sunday brunch. Would definitely stay here again.

    I really enjoyed my stay with my daughter at your Beautiful Hotel! I would Definitely come back! The Greeter outside, Curtis, was Fantastic, had a Positive Attitude, was Respectful & Helpful! We enjoyed meeting him. The Scenery was Amazing! Rooms: The Room is very well Styled & Comfortable. Clean & Quiet. Nearby activities: The Marina is right there. Lots of places to eat or hang out. The Hotel has a Beautiful Glass Museum on the 2nd floor. Safety: We felt very safe Walkability: There are many places to go see the sights

    Check in took over 25 minutes. The bar closed 2 hours early and the bartender was rude about it. The TV system in the room is the worst I've ever experienced, constantly shuts off and isn't user friendly. I will never stay there again and with my AMEX platinum I expect better.

    I wanted to leave a glowing review. The service I received from the on-site staff was top-notch. My room, and the whole hotel property, were beautiful. My room service meal beat expectations. The location was incredibly convenient, and eminently walkable. I wanted to leave that glowing review. But then the hotel decided to steal from me. I had booked an initial reservation via Marriott on January 19th under a prepay rate that was refundable only if it was cancelled the next day. I didn't want to cancel the reservation at all, but when I tried to *add* a day to my reservation on January 20th, the reservation system threw a litany of error codes at me. Not that it wasn't available, just didn't want to process it. I would have called the hotel to make the change but I wasn't going to have an opportunity to call before the day was up. Thus, I canceled the initial reservation and immediately rebooked a longer reservation. A few weeks go by and the Glass Light hadn't refunded me, so I disputed the transaction with Citi. I was given a conditional credit and sent on my way. More than two months later, I get a letter from Citi that they're reversing my credit and giving the money back to the Glass Light. The policy is pretty clear cut. If you cancel the next day, you can get your money back. Marriott's website even said I would get refunded if I canceled by 11:59pm on January 20th. I canceled at 9:40pm on January 20th. I understand it was coming a bit down to the wire, but that's firmly the correct side of the wire. I will be getting Marriott involved, and escalating the matter with Citi. I was very much looking forward to my next visit to the Glass Light, as I now have family in Norfolk and intend to visit another 3 or 4 times this year and the Glass Light is mere blocks away from their home. Now I will very gladly go elsewhere.
