20240407 The parking lot was full when I arrived today. There was a big sign at the entrance, and employees at the entrance stopping cars from getting into the park. As a car leaves, they would let 1 to enter. It was very well organized. It turned out, there was an event or large gathering there today. Part of the trail toward Leesburg from the visit7center was closed due to flooding. Will need to take the trail toward the Nature center and back if you want to hike in that direction. There is also where the eagle nest with 2 babies. The blue bells are in bloom. So pretty.
20220814 The visitors center has 2 parking areas. If you want to hike toward the nature center, park in the lot on the left of the visitor center. If you want to head to great falls, park in the lot on the right. To the right if the visitors center is the boat ramp. Donations are accepted. Please bring cash $2 per day/car and $20 per year - honor system. Most of the trail is shady, which is nice, including both parking areas. The restrooms were not in operation today, but portable bathrooms are available.
