TL:DR --> Long Trail has been not reliable over the last ~2 years, has been rude on the phone when we seek help because they don't have availability for weeks, and ultimately don't care about the health of our pet Long Trail had been caring for our cat for a few years, starting when we adopted her. They made a few minor errors over the first two years, such as us dropping her off for a procedure, only to be called half an hour later to pick her up because they needed to reschedule. We brought her in many times with the same concerns, and paid for the same expensive tests over and over. I had different vets at their office tell me that we should do the same tests again, just to be sure. Nothing ever came up, we were given probiotics, food samples, etc. Finally, our cat had an emergency, and BEVS was able to diagnose her and send in a prescription for ulcer medication and specialty food. BEVS sent this information to Long Trail, and after a follow up, Long Trail continued prescribing the specialty diet. The very first order, I had to call and check in after a week because Long Trail failed to tell me that the diet was on backorder, and so I ordered it myself from Chewy. Since then, they have been unreliable. I called them to make an appointment with an acute concern, was told that the next opening they had was in 2 weeks, and that it was "illegal" to recommend any over the counter medications my cat could use in the meantime. During Covid, we adopted a new pet, and Long Trail declined to take new patients during the pandemic, so as the months dragged on, we decided to go with another vet in Shelburne. I called them about our cat, they were able to tell me a product I could use over the counter for the weekend, and were able to see her on Monday. I called Long Trail later, asking them to send records to the new vet. Now, a week after I had ordered our cat's specialty diet, waiting for Long Trail to approve it, I call and they say that they declined the refill because we transferred service. I explained that our cat has yet to be seen at the new vet for her chronic illness, and was only seen for an acute issue. They insisted that it was "illegal" for them to approve a refill of a food as they had removed our pet from their care. I hung up, called the new vet, and they were happy to approve the refill immediately. We always saw different vets at Long Trail, who didn't seem to remember out pet, and Doctors seem to come and go from that place. We will not be returning.
