Matt installed an acid neutralizer and a water softener here, and I can safely say his workmanship and service are next to none. Would absolutely hire him again.

I had a water softener system put in. From start to finish a very professional job and the result is water that feels like silk.

I recently moved in to a new place and it had a previously installed reverse osmosis system(Puro 35T) There was a Brandywine water system sticker on it and I also have receipts left from the previous owner in a bag which shows that they were actively servicing the system. There was a built-in TDS monitor that would display a green meaning it was up to par with NSF standards. The fact that the system was actively serviced and with the green indicator light gave me the confidence during moving in that the water was safe to drink despite the metallic taste. The system had been installed for a few years meaning the previous owner drank this water during that period and I drank it for three months. A few weeks ago the indicator light went orange indicating that the filter (membrane) was bad. It was at this time that I began inspecting the system to determine the course of action to service the system. It was at this point that I discovered that the tech that installed this system had the drain line and filtered line swapped, meaning I was drinking RO contaminate rich wastewater and the filtered water was going down the drain through the air gap. Mind you several techs came out during the subsequent years to maintain this system paid for by the previous owner. Now I know why the water had a metallic taste I was not drinking filtered water at all, in fact I was better off drinking the tap. I have 5 years experience in the water treatment system and remediation industry. This entire system is now trashed even if I remedy the lines, the ASO and other parts would have to be replaced, and being that this is a proprietary system I chose to replace it. I've uploaded some pictures to help bring some color to the situation. You can note on the spigot that there are hard water stains, stains that should not exist if it was true RO water... you can also see where the black drain line hose bib connects to where it says out (filtered water), which leads to the air gap down the drain and the yellow drinking water tube is connected to 'drain'. Anyway, I have zero direct experience with this company however due to the negligence of this install I felt compelled to share this... If I were to guess they probably had a young new tech install this who didn't know much as there is handwritten colors with sharpie on various parts of the system to help with avoiding mistake and installation unfortunately to no avail...

Business Response on Google Aug 10th, 2021
I am sorry to hear of your negative experience with the Puro 35 RO that was installed in your house. I’ve put hundreds of these units in over the years and this is the first I’ve heard of this scenario happening. The green light you described is a TDS meter that should indicate if the water is not being filtered properly - and historically, they’ve been pretty accurate. I certainly will be double checking all systems moving forward to see that they are installed correctly and we will check the tds with a hand meter as well.We take all feedback very seriously. That being said, since we didn’t receive any verbal complaints about the water over the years, and the meter was indicating it was working, it’s easy to see how this would’ve been missed on a routine filter change. I understand you’ve already replaced the system but we do stand by our work and will always correct anything that isn’t right.Brandywine Water systems is a small family owned business that has been servicing the area since 1980 and we take great pride in our customer report. I can confidently say we strive to do fair, quality and honest work... even if we made an honest mistake.
