St. Joseph's Hospital- North Emergency Center

Try another emergency room. The ER reception is turtle slow despite a late night visit with literally no patients there. Front desk staff showed no urgency to get us admitted. Then parking dude kept having us move the car from one spot to another while being checked in and trying to see the doctor. Seriously. Are we in USA? Or some 3rd works country.

I was at the ER in very severe abnormal pain. After waiting what I feel was much to long I was taken back. I do have past kidney stone history and diverticulitis. I waited in the room for over an hour. The nurse came in and said they needed a urine sample. The NP came in never touched me ordered an ultrasound. Ordered an IV with pain medicine after waiting to get the iv for another hour it was run with a very fast drip. 40 minutes went by RN came in said take these and you can go. I asked and he said it was like thylenol. I was pushed out to the front door and left there to be picked up . Within 10 minutes of getting home I can only discribe what happened as and over dose. I lost control of my limbs, threw up broke out in a sweat and passed out. My blood pressure was very high.

While some of the staff were very personable and friendly and while it was a very clean facility, the overall experience was not great. The wait was long. The admittance lady was not at all friendly. They didn't put in the request for the meds and didn't realize the mistake for an hour. They discharged us before their recommended treatment was done. They left us in the busy waiting room for 3 hours while my husband had a high fever and was throwing up. This is our closest ER but had I checked the ratings on Google first I would have driven a little further for better care and a quicker response time.

Today I had the best experience that you can have in an emergency room. I was taking care immediately. The medical staff was friendly and very competent, especially Cara and Claire. Everything was done efficiently and I was out of the ER in less than 2 hours feeling much better.
