image If you want a lawyer who takes two years and sides with the insurance company, Kyle's your guy.
My accident was at the end of June 2019 and I was in Kyle's office within the week to sign with him. We didn't settle the case until September 2021. It took almost two years to the day for his team to put together the demand for my car accident, then the actual negotiation took around 3 months.
This was my first car accident and I didn't know what to expect from the legal process. When COVID hit 6 months in, I did my best to be patient with him and Barbara. I had to reach out for updates every couple months and it was hard to know what progress was being made. I was nervous that we'd miss the deadline for sending the demand, but it was sent just in time.
The first time we heard back from the insurance rep, I was shocked by the low ball offer vs the amount in the demand we agreed on. Kyle called me to say that the insurance rep was being reasonable with their offer and that we should take it. I asked him what else we could do to get the number up. I know my accident wasn't the worst ever, but the first offer wasn't going to cover the weekly chiropractic treatment I rely on to reduce my pain levels. When I told him this, he responded by saying that he didn't have to go that frequently so he didn't understand why I need to go so often. His personal car accident was "worse" than mine, so I wasn't given much empathy. It felt like he was dismissive of my situation and pressuring me to take the first offer when it was 80% less of the number demanded. Then he rushed me into getting together receipts that I could have been preparing in the two years while I waited for their direction. He was able to bump up the offer by a thousand dollars, still not enough to cover the treatment, medication and exercise therapy I will likely need for the rest of my life. Especially when every medical entity comes for their share of my settlement money, including his buddy at Barbour Orthopedics he referred me to. The whole three months it felt like it was me vs Kyle and the insurance rep... like I had to prove my case to Kyle too.
I still don't know how this process is supposed to go, or what's considered normal. He gets two stars because he settled the case and I received my money, but I wouldn't recommend him to anyone I know. I didn't feel like he was fighting to get me the best settlement possible. If I had any suggestions, it would be to increase communication, manage expectations and at least pretend that you're on your client's side.

image I was in a pretty devastating car accident that left me dazed, injured, and terrified. I wasn't sure what do do or where to turn. I knew I wanted someone local to represent me, and I couldn't be happier that I called Kyle! He came to my house the very same day, and I didn't worry about a thing after that. He and his paralegal, Barbara, were so supportive and patient, and they took care of everything that I needed and then some. Thank you, Kyle and Barbara, for what you've done to help and support me and my family!
