image I had Lasik eye surgery yesterday with Dr. Farah, and I cannot express enough how wonderful he is as well as the rest of the staff! I was very nervous but he took his time with me and made sure I was comfortable every single step! He even called later that night to check in and see how I was doing! They made sure that the procedure went smoothly and guided me through the whole thing...BEST experience ever! If you are on the fence, do it...it’s so worth it! So many people think they can’t or it’s too scary, but Farah and his team make it a breeze!

image Dr. Cullum is very thorough. He explained things so clear, went over the procedure step by step and even comforted me right before my surgery, because I was a little nervous. The whole staff, especially Shelique and Karen made sure I felt like a VIP guest while I was in the office. They were very professional, and their customer service was impeccable. I Highly recommend them.

image I can see again! Dr. Cullom removed cataracts from both my eyes last month, and it's made a remarkable difference in my vision. The process was quick and painless, and 24 hours after surgery I tested 20/25 on a vision test. I'm now at 20/20, and things are not only in focus, but the world is also much brighter. I recommend this practice.

image Practice was great until Mary Ellen Cullom retired. Even though I've been a patient of the practice for years, they won't continue to see me as they say they are not taking NEW patients; but...I'm not new! So it seems they want to inconvenience the patient by sending you on a 40 minute drive to another town. They keep the money in their practice but totally inconvenience the client... Poor way to treat loyal patients.

image I would give a zero but it won't allow me.
Just received a phone call from Dr. Long telling me she will no longer see me, other than 30 days of emergency care, and that she is sending me a letter, recommending other ophthalmologists. She said their office can't make me happy and that we have different perspectives. I have been going to this office for years. Recently got a new prescription for eyeglasses. Four days after getting the lenses I had a vitreous detachment in my left eye, eye pain, bulging vein on the left side of my face and scalp pain. Dr. Gada, with Eye2Eye who ordered the lenses, suggested I contact Dr. Long's office and after being seen was told by a staff person that a typing error had been made and they gave me a new prescription for my left eye. I had to ask to be seen for the eye concerns mentioned. Dr. Long said there was no connection to my concerns and the error on the prescription. The office manager says it is a coincidence. The staff person who initially told me it was a typing error over the phone denies telling me that. The officer manager also states that Dr. Long never saw the bulging vein, which is not true. In order to see complete notes I have to request them, they are not part of the patient system I can view online. I am presently working with the Riverside Patient Advocate, Yasmin Artis, regarding this. I was not charged for my first visit to see Dr. Long and when I saw her for a follow up I was asked to pay. I politely declined as I believe the error on the left lens could have caused these concerns. I was then asked to wait to speak with the office manager. While waiting Dr. Long opened the door to the waiting area I was in, put her head in and said she could lose her license, then she quickly left before I could ask her what this meant. I waited approximately 15 minutes for the office manager to come. The office manager said the concern was just a "coincidence." Dr. Long says these things happen and when you are older if you don't get the prescription just right. Now the office manager is saying I should have been charged for the first visit as well. When Dr. Long called I tried to ask her questions and all she would do is say we can't make you happy repeatedly. When an office goes to such lengths to try and convince a patient that an error they made had nothing to do with eye concerns, even though the possibility exists, it is not a good sign. The letter I was sent says "as your provider, I feel I cannot continue to provide your care when you are not willing to follow our plan and be agreeable and responsive to what I suggest and what we agreed upon." I can only follow a plan if I am given one. A plan was never given. Any doctor patient relationship should have give and take. All I ever asked was to have the office admit a mistake was made, instead of repeatedly denying it. As the only reason I went to the office was because of the concerns that happened 4 days after getting the lenses, it is only reasonable to ask that I not pay for follow up visits. I would not have needed to visit Dr. Long if the prescription had been correct in the first place. In researching what can happen when a prescription is not correct I see that eye strain can result....specifically....."Wearing the wrong prescription for a prolonged period of time can cause eye strain, resulting in pain around and behind the eye." It seems reasonable that since the only reason I went to Dr. Long was because the prescription was wrong that I not be asked to pay for the visits she recommended. To simply dismiss a patient because they point out an error seems less than professional.
