I'm just starting out. A lot of energy and down to earth people there. This is an Assembly of God denomination. It's not as charismatic as some that I have been to, but people do raise their hands and seem serious in their worship and praise. That's a good thing.
They have two services on Sunday. Parking is good if you get there early. The church is growing which tells me they are doing something right and have the favor of God working. Rumor has it that they will soon be expanding. That's pretty exciting.
The lobby seems to be a bit small and uninviting, and because of the two services running back to back, there's not a sense of social welcoming or, at best, little. My only concern is the loud volume of music prior to and after service. I have a difficult time hearing in any conversation, so the volume, to me, is too loud. Imagine that.
They do appear to have a small select number of home groups. I have yet to attend any because they just started up. This is January 2024.
When trying to get info on small home groups, I felt put off in getting a response. I have a hard time connecting with any member there as no phone numbers are given in the literature. I have called but never received a call back.
They have a Facebook page, but other Hope City Churches do not list what city they're in. It was cumbersome to know which of those to choose from as I am a new prospective attendee.
The worship is very good and spirit led. The sermons are simple, short, and geared towards topics of brokeness that I have sat in so far. There seem to be a few lady pastors there and a main male pastor who is quite busy in the film community; traveling often from city to city. I can not speak about any individual staff member as I am mostly quiet and am simply observing at this point.
In conclusion, I am happy to suggest that you visit and experience what you are needing.
