I'll start by saying I'm not from Denver or CO and so I'm comparing my treatment to identical situations in 3 other states: NJ, FL and TN.
I've been in the ER for alcohol (poisoning, withdrawal [DTs, seizures, etc]) for one reason or another, 5 or 6 times since 2011.
Each time and place was unique in one way or another, but one thing they all had in common was a... medical-grade understanding of how alcohol and, more importantly, alcohol-withdrawal can kill you up to 72 after your last drink.
It's literally the entire reason I went. I can stop drinking at home, but it could be extremely dangerous, and I've had close calls in the past.
Cape Coral, FL, kept me for 3 1/2 days when I showed up blowing a 4.2 BAC.
I arrived at Lutheran Medical, blowing a 5.2 BAC. {Deadly}
AFTER ONE BAG OF VITAMINS AND TRYING TO REHYDRATE, 4 HOURS EXACTLY, THEY TOLD ME I HAD BEEN, "STABILIZED," AND WAS GIVEN DISCHARGE PAPERS.
Oh, and a bill for $1,398.00.
Dangerous, deadly, negligent at best. It's really scary. I stereotyped Denver as somehow better than Jersey, Florida or hillbilly TN. I was surely mistaken.

I got a decent cut on my thumb that needed some stitches. Oliver and Amanda in the ER treated me and they did an excellent job. They were very kind and professional and knew their stuff very well. 10/10 staff

My mom was taken to the ER when she fell and couldnt get up. Turns out she broke her hip. Admitted her and had surgery that same evening. Ended up staying a couple until she was transferred to a rehab facility. Cant say enough great things about the staff. They were all wonderful and treated her with dignity and respect. The care she received was top notch and we couldnt ask for anything better. Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone!
