Everything I was told by the salesman was right on the mark, quality of product, the time it would take to do the job, the workers were curtious and clean, the finished product was beautiful, and most important my wife and I love it. Also, 18 months interest free works perfect for our budget....Thank you...Rich Beato

This review is about a year after we experienced Granite Transformations, but I feel that it is even more relevant that this is not a spontaneous review.
We encountered Granite transformations at the NJ Home Show in Edison in March 2015. Once we learned what it was about, we felt it was a good match for what we needed. In 2014, we started a DIY project on our home, in which we added backsplash, removed, wallpaper, etc. We had the same red laminate countertops that were there when we bought the house. I was drawn to the idea of cement countertops, but didn't want to pull out the current ones. So we (read: I) did a cement overlay. It was imperfect and I loved it, but the upkeep was killing me. This was not news. I had read about it prior to doing it and decided to seal it two different ways. Before long, there was water spots and oil spots, despite two sealants, repeated waxing, and wiping up spills within seconds. So by the time we learned about Granite Transformations, we were ready to spend some money on our budget kitchen makeover.
When we met with Granite Transformations, I was going to pick gray homogeneous countertops - reminiscent of the gray of cement. I don't like all of the movement you often see with granite and they assured me they had lots of variety. They didn't disappoint! There was lots to pick from and I actually picked a pearl colored countertop with subtle sparkle in it. It picked up hints of colors from the backsplash, as well as the cabinets. I was shocked that I loved that color. We set up a date to be measured perfectly and a date to have the granite overlay (and our free undermount sink) installed. This all took about 4 weeks. We loved it the day it was installed and have loved it ever since. Better yet, it is a granite composite that doesn't need to be sealed. My upkeep is so minimal. I love it!
Everyone that entered our home - from the person that did the measuring, to the installers, and the plumber - was super professional. The installers did the job quickly, efficiently, and cleaned up everything once done.
The only issues that gave me slight pause:
1. The caulking appears to be yellowing. That may be it's nature and more noticeable (to me, anyway) because of the pearl color of the countertops. No one else seems to notice and I don't know if anything can be done about it.
2. I will admit that after having a couple of friends in the area that have gutted their entire kitchens, the price was comparable. I would have thought this method would have cost less, as it is not a solid slab of granite. But I will admit: NO ONE CAN TELL. So that skill is what adds up the cost, I guess.
All in all, this was a positive experience. It was perfect for us because I think it would have been harder to demo the counters after the cement overlay. But the gift that keeps on giving? We lost the use of our kitchen for only 1 day. That's it! With a toddler and an infant at the time, you can't beat that with a stick. I would recommend this company.
