image We worked with Greg Grillo to find our dream car! I'd test driven just about every mid-size vehicle on the market that has the third row until I visited this dealership as a last resort, and I'm so glad I did! Unlike at other dealerships I didn't feel rushed or pushed to make a decision, and Greg actually took the time to help me learn the vehicle's features before we did a test drive - instead of leaving me to fumble around like every other salesman. He also didn't make me feel uncomfortable (as a woman test driving alone) like some of the other salesmen at other dealerships. Greg really advocated for us to get us the vehicle we wanted and the process went pretty smoothly. We definitely recommend Greg at Waconia DCJR!

image On August 29, I brought my vehicle, Ram 2500, to the service department for repairs. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The primary concerns include:
Lack of Communication: Over the four days my car was in their possession, I had to initiate almost all communication. Despite numerous calls, I consistently faced challenges in obtaining updates on the status of my vehicle. Each time I called, I was told that my car was on the rack, and the mechanic was unavailable, with assurances of callbacks that never materialized.
Repair Without Estimate: I was taken aback to learn that a repair had been conducted on my vehicle without prior communication or an estimate. This lack of transparency regarding the work being performed on my car is unacceptable.
Inadequate Repair: Upon receiving my vehicle back, I discovered that the reported problem had not been adequately addressed. This led me to seek out the service manager, general manager, and owner in an attempt to discuss the issues. Unfortunately, my efforts were in vain as none of them were available, and my attempts to contact them were met with frustration.
Difficulty in Reaching Management: It took over a month for me to finally connect with the owner, who then directed me to the service manager. This prolonged and arduous process was exacerbated by the service manager's unprofessional behavior, including a refusal to take responsibility for the faulty repair and a sudden reversal on agreeing to cover the costs associated with rectifying the issue.
Unprofessional Conduct: During our conversation, the service manager displayed unprofessional behavior by becoming angry and raising his voice when I suggested that the responsibility for the faulty repair should lie with the service department.
To provide further clarity, I have a video from a reputable Ram dealership highlighting the substandard work performed on my vehicle, which the service manager admitted was a temporary "bandaid" fix.

We apologize again for the lack of communication during the repair process on your 2015 Dodge Ram. Based on what you have said that would be a deviation from what ordinarily happens. As far as repair without estimate… our service advisor, Alex, said that he did tell you that the most we would charge without getting additional approval is up to 1.5 hours of diagnostic time. Our technician spent over 6.5 hours diagnosing the wiring issue. He performed a wiring overlay which is an approved repair process from the manufacturer RAM. For the repair you were billed for 1.5 Labor hours, plus the sensor which came to a total of 150.58. With the complexity of vehicles, often there are multiple issues that can cause a problem like and ABS light, that requires multiple repairs needed to fix one problem. Unfortunately, that was the situation with your vehicle for the ABS light. Our goal is always to provide the most economical repair for our customers, that is why we run the wiring overlay. Since there were multiple issues causing the ABS light, our technician determined that the ABS control module needs to be replaced also. We did provide you with a quote to replace the module, but that part of the repair was declined. Based on what we heard from the audio clip from the other dealership. It sounded like they came up with the same root cause for the ABS light, that our technician did, the ABS module needed to be replaced. This was the same conclusion the other dealership came up with. Notes from our Technician that worked on the 2015 RAM1500: Tested the ABS sensor and found it was not reading due to an open in the sensor circuit. The ABS sensor was replaced, codes were cleared, the vehicle was test driven and the light returned. Disconnected the ABS module and shorted to power the wheel speed wiring and check for continuity to make sure the wire could carry the load to the module. Found one wire was capable and the other was not. Ran an overlay, cleared faults, test drove, and the light returned. The conclusion was that the ABS control module needed to be replaced. Yes, we did offer to refund you the amount you paid for the repair. When someone turns to tactics that they are going to post negative reviews to social media and other review sites, report us to the State of Minnesota Attorney General, have a friend who is an attorney sue us. One can find that off putting and decide to disengage.

image The entire team there is fantastic! We love our sales rep, Sean Decker, this is our third vehicle purchase from him! He's professional, knowledgeable, personable and so helpful. He takes the time to connect, he isn't pushy, he's great at finding us what we need/want, he's patient and can always close the deal! We're also getting really familiar with John the finance guy (three vehicles in LOL) he's found us great financing, explains all the paperwork while being respectful of our time, he does his job to share all of the offers but doesn't push on us to do anything we aren't interested in, he knows how we work! We also love Alex in Service! He's a straight shooter, he's honest, knowledgeable, personable and so helpful! The idea of buying a new vehicle used to be a drain and you just planned on sitting around the dealership ALL DAY, and just waiting for the next 'up sell' attempt, everything and everyone felt stiff and transactional. NOT AT WACONIA DODGE! Personality, Connection, Camaraderie, Efficient, Honest & Respectful are just a few things that come to mind for us! Also, I used to be a Chevy gal, until just 2 years ago! HEMI for the WIN!
