While some small businesses start out of basements or garages, in Mobile Link's case, it started out of a Volkswagen Golf. In 1991, Blake Schultz began installing cellular telephones, stereos, speakers and remote car starters in vehicles as a private contractor. Soon the VW Golf was replaced by a van, and Mobile Link was born inside of Blake's garage.After a few years of steady growth, Schultz decided to open his first brick and mortar store in 2000, opening a Mobile Link location on 8th Street in Wisconsin Rapids. Since then, two more locations have sprung up in Marshfield and Waupaca, WI. Each location boasts an extensive showroom and installation bays.Mobile Link has also sold cellular phones in the past for companies such as Cellular One, Cellulink, Einstein, CenturyTel, Alltel, Element Mobile, and now Cellcom. They strive to make every transaction a win/win situation for the customer and are proud to serve the Wisconsin Rapids’ and Waupaca communities.
