DO NOT SHOP HERE. Workers are RACIST. We had an incident where workers FOLLOWED my daughter and me around the store and then proceeded to KICK my daughter out while she was looking at birthday cards for her dying grandma. I came up to them, and they didn't believe she was my daughter, and when i asked what happened, they proceeded to point out how she was taking "too long" to look and said that if she wasn't buying anything she could get out. My daughter is a young, beautiful Mexican girl, and when there was another beautiful white teen minding her own business and looking around, they didn't bat an eye. DON'T SHOP HERE I've also experienced many other hate crimes with my Mexican family, and this store.

We welcome customers from all walks of life in our stores, so we have taken your message very seriously. This situation was investigated by watching surveillance video, and discussing with employees present that day, and their manager. Our video showed three young adults enter and exit the store during three separate visits between 4:46pm and 5:36pm on the date in question. The young adults did not make a purchase. An adult woman and her young child joined the young adults in the store for the third visit at 5:29pm and left with them at 5:36pm.Employees asked the young adults during their first visit if they could help and were given the answer “no”. If a card for grandmother was desired – the guests did not look in the grandmother card section, and they refused assistance.Our employees are required to observe and be available for guests, as well as to clean and straighten merchandise (among additional duties). The video showed employees cleaning, observing guests from a distance, watching for opportunities to answer customer questions or make sales.Recently there has been loitering at our strip mall, so we sometimes ask individuals who are “hanging out” and not looking to purchase to consider choosing another space such as a Starbucks or Panera or Chilis to hang out. Hate is not something we believe in. We have taken your words seriously and wish all the best for you.

Do not go to hallmark! the workers are extremely racist! they will follow you around the whole store and act as if theyre cleaning just to spy on you! its extremely uncomfortable! i was in the store for a while with my friends for a while just browsing and they kicked me out saying if your not gonna buy anything leave my store, because you guys have been walking around for too long i was with my white friends and they had told me that theyve went to this hallmark before just them and the workers never followed them or anything! im a young mexican girl who just wanted to spend time with my friends but it was all ruined by these disgusting rude workers! ive also heard other complains of my dark skinned friends who have experienced racism as well by these workers!

UPDATE- The owner contacted me and let me know that the manager was mistaken in her interpretation of the return policy. They are refunding me the money for the candle. I am changing my review and my star rating. I will give them another chance.
I bought a Woodwick candle from them about 2 weeks ago. Paid full price. Brought it back to return, with my receipt, in pristine, unused, still boxed and tagged condition and was told I would only get the new sale price back. Apparently theyre now 40% off. No where was this posted as the return policy. When I questioned the legality of that I was told by the clerk that its policy at every store not just the hallmark store. Ive never had that happen to me ever, at any store. I try to shop small to support the little retailers whenever I can, but I wont be buying anything from this store ever again. I ended up just keeping the candle. Sad.
