I used Laplan law firm 2 different times during a contested divorce. Cori was compassionate and fought for me. This was my best experience with an attorney. I would recommend her services to anyone.

Corrine Kaplan was a terrible divorce attorney who was never available during the most critical moments of the divorce process and preys on vulnerable people going through one of the hardest things people go through. She was never available to take or return phone calls or emails, but always charged me every interaction with her staff. There was always some sort of family emergency or vacation or excuse for why she was not available. She added to the drama of my divorce by making multiple negative assumptions about my ex-husband and added to the drama of an already traumatic experience. She added on unnecessary services just to add to the balance.
The only interaction I had with her besides my initial consultation was 10 minutes before my actual day in court where she insulted my maiden name saying that it was a weird name and people don't like it and insisted that I used a different last name if I were to ever change my name back. I caved in to this pressure as we were rushing into court and wrote in my grandmother's last name into my divorce paperwork and It is because of this pressure that I can not change my name with my bank to this day.
Two weeks after my divorce I moved to Texas to start my life over. I didn't hear from her or her office for 8 months before she called me out of the blue and demanded that we settle up my unpaid balance. I was taken completely off guard. 8 months after my divorce and not hearing from her office one, she sent me an invoice with generic services itemized and line items that did not even match the total balance. Now she has a collection agency sending letters and the balance is increasing. DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM. Their website says that they help their clients, "thrive towards new beginnings" couldn't be further from the truth. Do not trust this law firm. It will make your divorce exponentially worse.
