I rent an apt thru them and am glad they helped me when I was homeless. David in the office is who helped me with my application and has been wonderful in helping me as needed. He is one of my favorite people there at the office

Worked there. Was fired for stopping a domestic violence situation in progress nonviolently. During the time I worked there I was discriminated against for having a criminal background that they knew I had. I was subjected to discrimination, racial comments about me, and other types of harassment. Was forced to actually stand up and do a whole meeting on the fact that I was a felon because I made people uncomfortable as a felon. Went from working at an all women shelter for VOA where I actually felt I helped people to a case manager, where the only concern was how we could bill people and not help them. VOA is corrupt VOA is a bad organization and they are a horrible organization work for .

I really don't know where I would be today if the VOA hadn't helped me 15 years ago. I have my own apartment, a bank account with money in it all month long. Thank you, VOA, I feel whole again...

HopeHouse is being taken over by a long-term tenant Erin and her meth usingfriends who believe they own the place and harass new tenants EVERYDAY...Hopehouse I thought was for battered women only I've been being harassed by Erin for 8 months now with no reprieve.they say DOCUMENT AND I HAVE..no end result yet...
