Steve was an absolute pleasure to work with. I could not have done it without him! I purchased my home with him about one year ago. As a first time home buyer with very little familiarity with the process and even less familiarity with Seattle neighborhoods, his expertise was essential. The most important thing for me was that Steve figured out (before I did), exactly what I wanted. If you were to ask me last year what I was looking for, I would have said "a new townhome in West Seattle." Here I am in a beautiful, historic 111-year old Craftsman in Greenwood/Phinney and I couldn't be more grateful for that. He noticed right away that I didn't actually like most of the townhomes we saw at first. I kept coming back to "the idea" of this one beautiful historic Tudor-style home we saw day 2. He then started showing me other older, historic houses with great backyards and unique features. Another realtor might have continued to show me what I said I wanted, and justifiably so! But Steve had the perception to realize that what I actually liked was different than what I had in my mind that I wanted. I'm sure many or even most buyers know exactly what they want, but to pick up on the ones like me who don't and perhaps need another point of view, is an invaluable quality of Steve's. Steve also coordinated closely with my lender and others to get the information needed and expedite things for my offer. The home I fell in love with had just been listed and we wanted to act quickly to get it. In my situation, I was happy to have the transparency between all parties to get this done particularly when at critical times I was traveling for work and was sometimes out-of-pocket during the day. He was a tremendous help in this respect. He helped me assemble the team I needed and kept everyone on track..from the lender, to the title company, to the seller agent, to the inspector and more. Steve knows everyone. He had relationships with almost every seller agent we encountered at open houses or other showings. This helped when we had questions or if because of my schedule we wanted a showing during off-hours, or the like. He also knew the selling agent of the home I ended up buying very well and had worked with him previously. I feel this was a game-changer in getting my offer accepted. I had offered full price and Steve was able to relay to the selling agent that I was serious, really wanted the house and was eager to move forward. The sellers could have waited a few days to see if other offers came in by the end of the week. But they accepted my offer within a few hours and we were able to avoid delays or a bidding war. I can't recommend Steve enough for anyone out there looking for a Seattle realtor. He's your secret weapon for getting the home of your dreams!

He also provided great insight for the home-buying process and allowed us to be ahead of the game when it came to executing an offer on our desired home. 10/10!

Stephen Shepherd helped my wife and I sell our home, and I cannot thank him enough for his tireless efforts on our behalf. When the renters in our property needed to contact us, the property management company refused to act as intermediary. Stephen took it on himself to locate us and acted as go-between to help both our renters and ourselves. Seeing the effort he was willing to invest for his clients, we instantly asked if he'd be willing to represent us in the sale of the property. We had tried to sell with a different agent 8 months prior, with no interest after 2 months on the market. As we prepared to try and sell again, the global pandemic struck. My wife and I lived two states away and were unable to travel in order to manage the sale. The market started to cool, the HOA refused to allow signs in the neighborhood for visibility, and even the bridge to our neighborhood was permanently closed. Despite all of this, Stephen found a buyer within 13 days of putting our house on the market. He handled arrangements for staging the house, open houses and tours, fliers, corrections to the title, and a multitude of other details. I have never worked with an individual more committed to helping his clients. There are no better hands than Stephen's for your real estate needs.

Steve helped my daughter to find her perfect home in Seattle. I am a Real Estate agent in Idaho so I could not help her with the purchase of her new home in Washington. We were very lucky to find Steve. He went above and beyond his duties as an agent for my daughter by keeping me informed every step of the way:) Once my daughter found the house she wanted to make an offer on, Steve kicked into high gear as the Seattle market was on fire! (not literally) They were under contract and the inspection was complete within days of the offer. He worked closely with her lender as she was a first time home buyer and had a lot of questions about the process. All together and with the title company, it was a quick seamless transaction. Steve was professional, knowledgeable and fun to work with. I would highly recommend him as an agent and hope to work with him again in the near future:)

Until we got hold of Steve, we were going on three years trying to locate the ideal property (dark nights for astonomy, near a town with medical facilities, and with power/water.) Unlike other agents, Steve knows what it means to be customer centric. Taking the time to learn and understand what we were looking for and tailoring listings accordingly. Adjusting listings as we went, which lead us quickly to the property we ended up purchasing. During the purchasing process, Steves customer focus shined. By quickly taking on and resolving empty commitments from the Selling agency, delivering results that lead to the closing of the property. If was not for his bias for action in such matters, our dream of owning the ideal property would not have happened. Highly recommend Steve. He is very customer focused by doing what is needed to ensure that customers are fully satisfied and not out for a quick sale.
