We initially met with Dale from Gemini construction for a project estimate. He told us that he would get back to us with a proposal within the week and could start building right away. That was the last time we ever heard from him. After many unreturned voicemails and emails we gave up. I find his lack of follow up extremely unprofessional.

Dale Claypool is the kind of contractor that makes you never want to work with contractors again. I paid Dale to renovate my house. Dale was the Project Manager, but did barely any work over 8 months. As a result, the project was very mismanaged, very inefficient, very stressful, and 4 months behind schedule. Even though he was 4 months behind, he didn't seem to have much desire to finish the job (his crew was only working 1 day every few weeks). I had to threaten to sue him before he decided to try to finish the job. A few weeks after that, all his employees quit (except his brother). So I had to kick him off the job and hire another contractor to finish the project. What a disaster. Here are some other highlights from my experience working with Dale: - He cut off all communication with me for the last 4 months of the project. He wouldn't respond to any calls or messages. It was so immature. I still don't even know why - At the end of the project, Dale told me that I (the customer) was actually the project manager, and that's why he hadn't been doing his job - When he sold me the project, he didn't even have the crew required to do the work! Think about that. He sold the project knowing he didn't have the people required to complete the work. - He would hire crew (most were not good performers; some were really bad), and provide them with almost no training, direction or management. He often wouldn't even communicate to them what I wanted done. Then he would eventually fire them. He hired and fired about 10 people over the course of the project - Dale had almost no awareness of the pace of work (he had a crew working for months that achieved very little), how much work was remaining and how long it would take (he kept telling me they were 1 week behind when they were actually 4 months behind!), and limited awareness about how to schedule activities (he scheduled the plumbing inside the walls for the end of the project!) - We had a fixed price contract, but he asked for more money before he would finish the project. That was when I got my lawyer involved Based on this experience, I personally think he has no respect for his customers. And as you can see, he was a total disaster to work with. Dale Claypool is someone you really want to avoid, unless you want a long, stressful and expensive project.
