This attorney worked for me years ago in an employment case involving the Director of Operations and the WSF. The Director, an abusive and bullying man, was later fired by his boss the WSDOT Secretary of Transportation, I am pleased to recall. In any case, this attorney, in attempting to represent my best workplace interests, sought to get every relevant fact from the Director, and so he wrote to him repeatedly for information. Unfortunately, the Director was not legally required to respond, and so he simply dragged his feet. This dawdling and avoidance by the Director made ineffective the attempts by the attorney to make progress, which in turn ate up much time and drove up the legal costs for me. At one point, in frustration I pointed out to the attorney that we were getting nowhere with his approach, which precipitated the attorney getting impatient and irritable with me. That irritation was not called for, and it suggested that perhaps he briefly forgot, as so many attorneys do, that the client is the customer and ultimately the boss, and the attorney is the hired hand. I found better legal strategy elsewhere after I left this attorney, but, even with that, the dictates of labor law and the union forced my employment issue into the arms of the union's labor law attorney. This matter occurred some years ago, but it was brought back to my consciousness from time to time because the attorney inadvertently allowed several of his e-mail notices to go to my e-mail box. This in turn led to me thinking that I should have gotten my money back for the expensive and ineffective strategy he employed.
