I have lived at Madison Court Apartments for over 5 years in two different apartments, a studio and a 1 bedroom. I live in one of the older units built in ~1920s and I love the high ceilings, big windows. and beautiful doorknobs. The location also can't be beat, walking distance from 2 grocery stores, countless restaurants, and several small parks. In addition to the cozy homey units, the building manager Kim Karas is amazing! Since she joined Madison Court I feel so informed and aware about our community. She takes care of problems big and small anytime. The rooftop, small green spaces, and garage all look better than ever and it's all thanks to Kim!

I have had a fantastic experience living at Madison Court. The property manager -Kim- has done an outstanding job of maintaining the complex and ensuring that it is clean and inviting. Grilling on the rooftop has become a favorite summertime hobby of mine. The complex is in a perfect location less than a 5 minute walk to multiple grocery stores, restaurants, nightlife, coffee shops, etc.

Neither my roommate or I have ever experienced a resident manager as attentive and caring as Kim. She keeps the property in beautiful conditions at all times and is always available to us, day or night, whenever we need something. Definitely one of the more budget friendly buildings in the area, but we feel like we get so much more than we pay for having Kim as the manager! Even the rooftop seems like it belongs to an apartment twice the price. She keeps flowers planted in the courtyard and the stairwells are always well-maintained. She treats her residents like family and is always willing to go out of her way to let our forgetful selves inside when we forget our keys.

DO NOT RENT FROM NORTHWEST APARTMENTS. I lived at Madison Court Apartments for 11 mos. There were 3 different managers in that time. Severe termite damage to the 3rd and 4th floor. The common areas are disgusting. Water damage on walkway from elevator to apartments is DANGEROUS! Felt like it was going to collapse every time I walked over it. The garbage area borders on unsanitary. Maggots, etc. Doors and locks to enter the building are always broken/ loose/ hard to use a key. Management is unresponsive. Front doors are constantly and consistently compromised. Homeless people get in and sleep in the stairwells. Alex Alberto is the most unprofessional human I have ever met. He treats his tenants like we're all lowlifes (Hates his job...?). The building has gone so long without proper upkeep that every other week they need to enter to fix this, that, or the other. Never leave a note saying whether they've entered or not and nothing ever gets fixed, so I assume that they didn't enter, so maybe it's all for show to pass inspections. (eg. Enter to clean drier filter, but drier filter was still clogged). Upon moving out they charged me $125 for not cleaning the blinds and for the apartment being dirty. We left the apartment immaculate (despite the construction going on in the bedroom due to said termite damage AND the fact we lived there 11 months, not 15 years). BEWARE: THERE ARE NON-REFUNDABLE FEES IN YOUR DEPOSIT. Regardless of how well you clean or what you do, they will charge you. Most important takeaway: Northwest Apartments is a horrible company. The epitome of everything that is wrong in Seattle's booming markets. Cold, evil, money-hungry company that can't seem to hire competent, professional building managers and will not give you a phone number to anyone at Northwest Apartments, as they try to avoid the confrontation from tenants that they know are coming for them. Building manager is simply an incompetent messenger to the evil NW apt company. They have no authority, no common sense, and treat all tenants like they are trash. Next time you notice a vacancy sign around Seattle, 9 out 10 times its a NW apartment building. With housing running low and 1000 people moving into Seattle every week, it's a telling sign that they constantly have vacancies.

I have lived here for 4 years we are on our 3rd manager, 7th leak in the ceiling and the entrance door lock is often broken, our door was almost broken open and is cracked in half and rotten and they will not replace it. It is no where near code and we got a 20 percent increase in rent this year at least. There is no pride in ownership at the moment. Upper management is not responsive to cig smoke, mold, and other problems. We have an incredibly rude non responsive new manager that I have complained about and not received a response about to. This is the last of its kind on the hill but the bad management makes it not worth it.
